Hope you are right, but there are a lot more beer sniffers in town today than 4th of July.

Wow. Place is slammed. Easily 100+. I don't think I'm gonna wait in that line today

Long. Probably 75-100 outside right now. Line is moving pretty slow.

Just got out of line, all sold out. Worst run release I've ever been to. They didn't cut down the limits and there were still about 75-100 ppl that walked away with nothing while they were allowing folks to walk out with 2 cases each right til the end.

Also, they didn't even come out and give a heads up that they were low when they still clearly had a huge line of people waiting around. A few angry ppl walked out and told everyone it was gone and then an employee eventually came out and confirmed that. Really sour experience.

This release was a little rough. If you got here after 11, which is when they open, you got shut out. About 75-100 people waited 2+ hours and got shut out. What makes it really shitty is they never dropped the 2 case pp limit. When there was 20 cases left i still saw people walk out with 2 cases.

That's the way they've always done it, clearly they aren't changing. Their choice.

Reminds me of the Hill Farmstead Ann fiasco and the Lawson disaster a few November's ago when people were told not to come early because there would be "plenty".

This was an easy call. Way too many beer folks in town

Love all the stuff I've had from Fiddlehead and really want to see them succeed, but releasing their most sought after beer during the busiest beer weekend of the year probably wasn't the best idea.

It would have been great if they did a cash line and a case limit per trip thru the line. Even with the amount of people, it probably would have went pretty smooth.

Well it sounds like it went about as well as I expected it to. Why they had more than a case limit is beyond me. They could've have a 2 four pack limit and they still would have sold it all today. No idea why they felt they needed to try and clear it out as fast as possible.

Hey, when I was at a Second Fiddle release back in April they had no limit. We saw a few people who borrowed their handtruck and wheeled out 6-8 cases. Bonkers. We all thought that they had to be bar or package store owners.

How often are these types of can releases? Also, am I correct in understanding this is the only time you can buy cans direct from the brewery?

I got there around 10:20 and was probably in the 150-170 range in line. Matty pulled in and looked at the crowd and told people that he didn't like doing it but that they were going to go with a 2 case limit and said there were about 400 cases total (people in line had been thinking it was a 4 case limit, not sure if that is true or not but it seems like the limit was going to be higher until he saw the crowd). By the time he said that I would guess there were already over 200 people in line, so it was clear from the get go that people were going to get shut out. I agree that is it unfortunate that staff did not keep people informed, as by the time I got inside they told us there were about 50 cases left. On the other hand, everyone knew it was a big weekend and would likely sell out quickly.

Not sure why they would not do a cash only line. It took us just over 2 hours to get in and out. Once inside people seemed to be taking their time looking at merchandise and getting tasters. I don't have an issue with that but let those of us with cash get in and out.

According to twitter they're doing another release next saturday at 11. Should be interesting to see how that compares and if they institute any changes.

Seems like a lot of the problems could of been prevented if they had posted information about the number of cases they had and what the case limit would be. Probably would of saved people from standing around for hours only to leave with nothing.

They also tweeted that they are sorry people did not get beer today and they will keep that in mind for next week, so I would guess yes on the changes...

Can you drink in the tasting room? I was there a few months ago and they couldn't sell by the glass or allow people to drink in the building. Something legal came up.
