I'm going to be in the Burlington, VT area this June/July for about three weeks. I've had Heady Topper. Great beer. Incredible. I haven't had any of Fiddleheads offerings. I'm passing on Magic Hat and a couple of others. Has anyone here experienced Fiddleheads beers, and would it be worth my while to spend a couple days near their brewery in Shelburne? My business is In Burlington. I've been to all their bars. I love Burlington, but never spent time with this newer brewer - Fiddlehead. Any, and all advice/suggestions are welcome. Thank you!!
Visit Fiddlehead. About 20 minutes south! Well worth it. I have also heard very good things about Four Quarters in Winooski
Fiddlehead is awesome. We were there over the summer; brought back a case and a half of Mastermind and gave over half it it away. Only time I've regretting sharing so much beer with friends
Fiddlehead is canning Second Fiddle about every two weeks right now and supposed to continue through out the year. It's a great beer. Can't beat the Pizza next door at Folino's either!
Super worth the visit! Really close in proximity to Magic Hat, but it's a small brewery doing big things. Fiddlehead's Mastermind was incredible this Fall, and I can't wait to try Second Fiddle as soon as I get the chance.
Agreed with all above. I have a 2nd Fiddle growler coming to me tomorrow and I couldn't be happier. Mastermind is top notch too.
Had a bunch of Fiddlehead this past week in Stowe, very very impressed. & on draft at allot of the bars on mountain.
Fiddlehead is definitely worth visiting. You don't necessarily need to stay nearby as you likely wouldn't spend a lot of time there. You can buy beer-to-go there and bring it over to the adjacent pizza place. Beyond that, the tasting room isn't a place you'd hang for a while. You can taste samples of the beers they are selling and buy beer and merchandise. There aren't tables to chill at or anything, tho.
I really enjoyed their Beer & Pizza this past weekend. Nice Mosaic session. Ended up taking a growler of it home. The guy pouring samples and growlers was really friendly, and definitely knew his shit.
how easy is it to score cases? when they open or any chance of later on in the day? ct guy that'll eventually make it up there and knock out all the good spots in 1 trip just looking to plan here lol.
Cases at the brewery are no problem think it was a 4 case limit for the last couple of releases and pretty much anytime the day of the release you should able to score what you want. It might get tough late in the afternoon.
For a case you should plan to be there on canning day, no need to be there when they open. They generally sell out later in the day, a few runs have lasted until the next day
Yeah avoid Magic Hat it's not worth your time. Seek out Foley Brothers Fair Maiden and Crop Idletyme IPA as well.
I've tried Mastermind and Second Fiddle and they are both amazing. Second Fiddle is up there, or better, than heady IMO. One of the best DIPA's I've ever tasted.
