Where do you see that? I've been monitoring their twitter account, but don't see a mention of that at all. Facebook maybe? I don't do FB, so can't see their FB page. Would be great though if true!

I was there on Saturday. Mastermind release at 11am on 7/30. They had it posted on the board in their store/taproom/the thing that isn't the pizzeria.

Awesome! Sorry for the obligatory question, but have lines been bad? 10am sufficient arrival?

Yeah- showed up at 10 for the 7/16 Mastermind/2nd Fiddle release and was about 50 people back. Line went quick and was able to get full case mixed.

I spent the day in Stowe and Greensboro Bend. Got there late, not thinking. All cans sold out and they had Fiddlehead IPA and Hodad for growlers. That pizza place next door is the most peculiar place, and you will sit there for two hours unless you know what you are supposed to do. So I would agree with the above statement and get there at 10.

Thanks for the responses @Jay21moose and @puftdank . I've beer to Fiddlehead a good amount, but never on a can release day. 10am and only 50 back on the weekend of the beer festival is actually pretty surprising (and double can release to boot).

Tried my last few cans of Mastermind from the MA release. I have seen mixed reviews regarding recent batches. Has anyone had a release in the last month or so and can attest to the taste? I gave it a good chance but I'm just finding it to be thin, a bit malt forward and boozy. Definitely different from years back. I was even one of the people not being critical of this release when I first had it but I just can't back it anymore. I picked it up back on June 15th.

    Cheers!

What is the allotment for these can releases? 24 per person? Thanks!

I had it at the Vermont Brewers Festival and thought it was excellent, as good as I remember it being in the past.

Depends on how many people show up. They never limit to less than a case but it is often more than that.

I would like a PSA asking others to pass on this release, so we can buy some next week!

Does Fiddlehead typically have cans on non-special release days or only growler fills? Planning a day trip in a few weeks to the area. Trying to plan ahead a bit here. Thanks.

It's very spotty. There has been plenty of times I have walked in a Tuesday or Wednesday night and they have had cans, unannounced.

Over the winter they often had Second Fiddle cans during the week as they canned it quite a bit and did not publicize the releases. Mastermind has been getting a bit more attention lately but depending when they can it next it is possible. They are usually good about updating their voice mail so give the a call before you go.

Stopped by yesterday, and they had plenty of mastermind. Dated 8/5. I agree that it tastes a bit more malt driven than when I first tried it a few years back

I had Mastermind and Rarified Air at the fest and thought Rarified was better.

Not that one week means you can count on it or anything, but I was tracking the 7/30 Mastermind release because I was headed up on 8/2. Fiddlehead message said they opened with 60 cases on Monday and when I arrived at 4:30 that Tuesday they still had roughly 20 cases left (the message that morning just said they were opening with Mastermind cans). If it doesn't sell out over the weekend it seems to last pretty good...but as I say, probably depends week to week.

To each their own, but this beer in no way tastes malty to me. As great as ever, thought I will qualify that I am not fit to judge my current tastes with those I had a few years ago...
