Aka a howler (half growler). Not to be confused with a prowler (pint growler)

Damn, if only they had announced the release on Tuesday I could've told my wife I had plans and couldn't go to some toddler's bday party today.

If anybody is going to grab some came and not planning to Max out their King Galaxy allotment hit me up lol

Nice little surprise/consolation prize to find Galaxy Juice cans at Fools Errand today for their first anniversary. Can't recall seeing Fieldwork anywhere other than their brewery in the past. Canned 6-27 and tasting freaking delicious!

Mixed reviews on this week's releases. Dankness lives up to its name for real, tropical/herbal/weedy with great intensity for a regular hazy; I also liked Saint Luca as well, a nice Amarillo hazy that I actually liked better than Saint Monroe.

But King Galaxy was a bit of a miss for me - flavor was a bit muddled and the feel was just not up to the level of their other hazies. Kind of a bummer since King Citra and Galaxy Juice are so damn good, I was hoping for a next-level hybrid of both.

Man, I sadly agree but it goes a step further. I think all of the IPA releases this week missed the mark :slight_frown:. Saint Luca is nice but watery and muddled. Dankness was better, ton of melon up front with citrus on the back end, soft malt and no bitterness but still flat. The biggest bummer was King Galaxy, just so vegetal and flat, nothing popped in this beer unlike King Citra. Feels like FieldWork has lost a bit of it's shine....

I got the chance to sample pours of St Luca, Dankness, and King Galaxy at the San Mateo location late afternoon. The best was Dankness followed by St Luca. King Galaxy had a really amazing passion fruit aroma on tap and while the taste didn't quite measure up to the aroma, it was decent enough to grab a 4-pack. Opened up a can last night and it was pretty disappointing. None of that beautiful aroma and the taste was kind of meh.

Also agree, but it's strange because both Galaxy Juice and Future So Bright, from just a couple of weeks ago, were really great.

Taking my last can of FSB into the mountains this weekend. Will make an outstanding summit beer. Drank my last GJ can while under the stars at Tahoe last weekend, seemed appropriate. Both beers have been quite tasty for my palate and preferences.

i too was super disappointed with king galaxy, it was the only one i picked up this past weekend tho. i didn’t even finish my can. major bummer, but hopefully they keep trying at it

it’s all good since ASB has been killing it lately, and with the CM drop yesterday there’s no lack of awesome cans in the bay

The problem is a lot of people maxed out on king galaxy expecting greatness because fieldwork is great at hyping up and selling their beer with the descriptions online. Now they are stuck with a bunch of expensive sweet boozy malty mess.

I didn't max out, but I did buy several based on the greatness of the last couple of releases. Nothing to do with online descriptions.

Well, even though the false King Galaxy was such a disappointment, I guess I'll still get my hopes up and go stand in line for Sunday's can release. Wonder if the line will be any shorter (hopefully). It is a bit strange being in such a tech-heavy area that it's taking so long to get the online ordering straightened out.

Sold out of Pulp and Raspberry by 3:00, but there was a lot of Young Murks and Destructive left.

Thx. Was debating driving into Sac @ 1330, guess I should've gone. How's this batch of Pulp? I wasn't super impressed with the last one (draft only for the 4th) and that influenced my decision to stay home.
