Not sure about the pilsners, but my first Pulp can tasted mighty fine!

That's great news! Was a bit more 'gun shy' grabbing cans as I felt the 2 batches since the last online presale were underwhelming.

Definitely like the Heater Allen, and of course I'm bringing back 6ers of pFriem Pils in a couple weeks from my OR climbing trip.

I did grab 2 cans of the FW overpriced lager. I love Mosaic, so that's how I'll attempt to justify the purchase.

Finest things is very nice, but a bit high on the carbonation.

    Another pre-order can release.

Just in time for Labor Day weekend, we have cans of Galaxy Sauce, Mallow Gold, Rainbow Parfait, as well as bottles of So Softly A Super God Cries available right now at www.FieldworkBrewing.com/pre-order. The pick-up window will begin this Saturday, 8/31 when each Taproom opens, and will extend until 10:00pm, Sunday 9/8. If cans sell out online, there will be no cans available for purchase in the Taprooms.

    Cheers!

Any reviews of this latest batch of sauce? I’m picking up my cans tomorrow if they are open.

I got 6 cans from this batch and wish that I had gotten more--drank 3 yesterday. Really nice pineapple flavors. I only got the Galaxy Sauce and cannot speak for the other can offerings.

Drinking one now, I think this is my first time with Galaxy Sauce. Solid beer with good full & creamy mouthfeel. Hop aroma & flavor are a step behind Galaxy Juice to me, but good thing it's much better than that King Galaxy.

I still have 3 cans of King Galaxy. They've been designated as cooking beers, just haven't had a chance to use them yet.

The Forbes linked within that story is really interesting, too:

The business model is pretty brilliant. Margin on taproom pints >>> margin on distro.

"You follow this industry pretty closely, so you know there’s no benefit to breweries to get as big as you can as fast as you can. There’s no shelf space available. It’s a dog fight to try and sell packaged product and it’s not a place we want to play. Our place is fresh beer, as fresh as possible, direct to the consumer. We’ve barely scratched the surface in northern California."

not sure if id go so far to call the business model of "sell cold beer in glasses to people" "brilliant"

but sure its nice. I like bars.

Brilliant might have been strong. Innovative maybe better. They’re definitely going counter to 95+% of the strategy of other breweries by prioritizing growth via taprooms instead of distributing.

I wonder if they'll need to expand their max production beyond Berkeley at some point when they get up to 10 locations in 2021 as they plan to. I have no doubt they can find spots that don't cannibalize their existing locations in NorCal. They could probably add Fremont and another in the Sac metro and be fine. Hell, they could probably find a spot in SF the size of Cellarmaker and kill it, but rents are so crazy here.

I know nothing about the industry other than what tastes good to me... But I am curious if they really make so much more in profit via draft in taprooms vs distribution when you take into account the added expenses of rent, wages, healthcare, utilities of 10 tap rooms. Comparing to say Revision with one main facility (and I think maybe one small tap room coming soon) that distributes all over the West, and even in Chicago (saw them at Bitter Pops last week).

Regardless, I love the idea of more places to drink good beer in the Bay.
