So online can sale is back? On FW’s site? And cans only? Not 4pks?

Edit: I see now. So priced at $5 or $5.5 per can. Not too bad I guess.

Just checked. Set dates to pick up at each location. I don’t see one for Monterey? I need to make sure I can fly to MRY to pick up on time. Do they tell you the set dates for pick up after purchase? If I were to fly up today or tomorrow I need to make sure there sure seats on the plane.

I'd think they're all similar, but can't definitively confirm. The following was contained in my order receipt:

"Your order will be available for pickup after 11:00 am on Oct 5, 2019 at our Sacramento taproom."

@dcgunman This language was in the announcement email " The pick-up window will begin this Saturday, 10/5 when each Taproom opens, and will extend until 10:00pm on Sunday 10/13. If cans sell out online, there will be no cans available for purchase in the Taprooms, cheers! "

So no set date and time for pick up. I can fly in, pick up, fly back. Have a few pours while I’m there. Maybe walk over to AVS for lunch. Fly back. Thx.

Online pickup is a godsend. Can't wait for the south bay location to open.

Enjoying a Bean Machine (getting close to a year old). Even though the coffee has faded quite a bit and it's a little sweeter than when fresh, it's still delicious and reminds me why it's one of my favorite brews from them.

Bean Machine is also one of my favorite beers from FW. Hopefully it comes back soon!

Glad I only picked up two cans.

Taste the malt backbone and ... really nothing else. Last year they had a fresh hop IPA and a fresh hop DIPA. Similar thing. DIPA was meh. Not like some of the better fresh hop beers I prefer in the bay...

Maybe it's a mistake to make a DIPA at all with fresh hops.

I've always thought wet hop beers were entirely overrated. Every year up in Oregon and Washington they freak out about it - wet hop season is like beer Christmas up there. And every year I'm less than impressed. It's gotten more popular in NorCal the last 5 years, and my opinion hasn't changed much. Not saying the beers are bad, just that at best they're usually not much better to my palate than their dried hop counterparts, and usually not quite as good.

But, I'll be in Oregon tomorrow and I'm sure I'll be having a bunch lol

FH Pallet Jack and Bodhi should be tops on your ISO list up there. Wet hop beers, for my palate and preferences, are outstanding. But as noted those from the PacNW >>> than those I've found in Norcal. One from this year worth a grab if you see it is Day Dripper from Moonraker. Wet hop Citra and Centennial, delicious.

Having a can of Temple of Bloom right now - it's ok except for the carbonation level, just way too low. I'm glad it's smooth and not a muddled mess, but I really hope my other 2 cans have more bubbles (but I ain't counting on it).

I've really scaled back on FW recently with some of their recent misses combined with terrific offerings from others, and this doesn't help. The last can I had with carbonation issues like this was from Local Craft Beer, and I've since ceased picking up any of their stuff that comes around because of all the misses; hope FW can get things figured out.

In my experience/for my preferences the fresh hops are best utilized for pale ales and the like. It's the crazy delicate aromatics that the wet hops bring that make the beers unique so the big malty dipas definitely seem like a waste

I don't disagree, and I actually find the PNW ones to be the most dull. The Fieldwork ones are not so different.

That being said, I said this in the Cellarmaker thread but I actually think they do an incredible job at making wet hop beers their own. They tend to brew a few each year and usually one(?) of them is "the good one": Green Knuckle (2016), Hop Slangin' Cask w/Fresh Hop Citra (2017), Questionable Origins #8 (2018), Mosaic Freshies (2019).
