it is difficult when you are comparing any Norcal brewery to Cellarmaker right now after their current run of great success. If Cellarmaker is your base comparison and you compare every brewery to them.... well your going to be pretty disappointed no matter where you go.

anyone remember Saint Monroe? I thought that beer was fantastic, I'm hoping they can it sometime in the future. It gave me a new appreciation for Amarillo hops.

I'd like to try that beer. Stone Dayman was the best coffee IPA I've ever had.

I have to agree somewhat. I appreciate them greatly because of my 2 minute walk to their berkeley taproom. Objectively, I wouldn't travel 45 minutes to visit them regularly whereas I would most certainly go to those lengths for Cellarmaker. I do think they make enough great beer to put them pretty high on my list of favorite Bay Area breweries.

Just noticed they deleted pics of galaxy sauce. Wonder if it may not be releasing or postponed

    Que up OMINOUS Music.......

I guess we will have to wait for an answer. It may be just a small run since it looked like it was only for the Sacramento Tap Room.

Maybe off flavors that some complained about with the last few can releases including galaxy juice. Speaking of which I still need to crack one open.

Are the cans this Saturday Sacramento only? Can't find any info.

It's posted on both instagram pages and the sac page has Sacramento hashtagged but the regular page doesn't. So it sounds like it'll be in Berkeley too.

I'm mainly curious about galaxy sauce. I changed my work schedule to go pick it up and now it's really confusing. They deleted the posts and said "it'll be reposted at some point". The "some point" part sounds like it'll be a later date

I am conveniently located 500 yds from the Napa tap room. I drink there a few times a week.
Cellarmaker and Russian River are on their own tier (NC only). But Fieldwork comes up in the next group.
I liked this galaxy juice run but preferred the previous one. I even said that to the owner while drinking a glass at lunch. But still enjoyed.
Its still about great fresh beer and they nail that with crowlers available and multi locations.
Kudos Fieldwork! This will be their year

Question for the Sacramento peeps: I normally do my Fieldwork pickups Friday night around 9 pm. I'm thinking I need to get some of this Galaxy Sauce Friday morning closer to opening. What's street parking like at this time? If I have to walk 5 blocks with 2 growlers + some crowlers that would not be fun. If Friday morning parking is similar to Friday night parking no problem.

Though a little late to the thread, glad I'm not the only one who thought King Citra was a little underwhelming and had floaties. Mine were purchased from Berkley, Saturday Feb 18th.

I feel like they're trying to emulate cellarmaker by making non-west coast IPA's but just aren't there yet.

I do however think they have some of the best stouts, Eliza tasted just like cold brew coffee and Vikings Lament is making me wish that I doubled dip before leaving the area on Sunday.

The business right to the LEFT 2 doors down has 2 spaces of 30 minute parking right on Capitol Ave. Other wise I use the free parking on 18th between Capitol and N St.

You are going to be dealing with just State Workers, no lunch crowd at that time. I doubt Fieldwork will be that busy at 9am. The last release for Galaxy Juice was quiet 2 weeks ago.

They are also now releasing 2 different cans on Saturday 3/4, so some people may wait on the Friday 3/3 release.

First sip of Galaxy Sauce tasted fine but then I noticed some off flavors and spice on the backend. Frankly, I don't imagine this was the brewer's intent, but I could be wrong.

It's weird, I see some reviews of people complaining about a bubble gum taste with the Galaxy Sauce. From my experience, people tend to love Tree House, Other Half and Trillium for their bubble gum qualities in the IPAs. Maybe it is just an East Coast vs West Coast preference. I do get some burn for the Sauce on the backend though, not sure if it is from yeast or what.

Finally tried Grove Stand though - now that is the next beer that they should can. Huge tropical fruit notes on the nose and taste. That beer was absolutely crushable for 9%

Completely agree on both aspects. With any galaxy use I'm expecting some detectable bubble-gum attributes. Grove Stand was indeed scary easy drinking for the ABV. Even easier drinking than King Citra, though I prefer it slightly for my palate.

I got to try Grove Stand Dipa on Friday.

Crushable for sure for a Dipa. Maybe my new favorite from FW ??? They should do cans of Grove stand for sure, I agree there.
