Grove Stand is definitely my favorite of their NEDIPA Hayzies I've had. I noticed the yeasty flavors in Galaxy Sauce on the back end, but I just love the galaxy hop so much I still enjoyed it. This second batch of Citra was wildly inconsistent IMO. I had a can with my sister and it was the best thing since sliced bread. Then we went directly to the Hazy IPA blind trading at Hoffbrau house and it was my second least favorite of the 10. Next day opened another can and it was amazing. Then had it on tap at Crafty Fix and it was almost flat. Very strange.

I still think Fieldwork consistently kills it on the West Coast IPAs. Without a doubt in my personal Top 5 Norcal breweries with Cellarmaker, Alvarado, Alpha Acid, and Moonraker (I only do hoppy lol).

Looks like people at the Track 7 IPA comp on Sunday liked Galaxy Sauce. It won "Peoples Choice" award. The voting might have been a little wonky though as their were a few complaints about the process......

My friend sent me that link yesterday and I told him it was weird Galaxy Sauce had won because reviews here on the forum sounded like they were really mixed.

Yeah, I wasn't too keen on the half pour I had.

Agreed though somehow they've managed to make enough hits due to their rate of production that I can include them among my favorites despite the fairly large amount of misses (if that makes any sense). I guess I really like Pulp and Galaxy Juice (except for the last batch) and am willing to forgive them for their all the beers that don't seem to conform to their reported style.

I'd really like for them to work on the hospitality component of their tasting rooms including vetting knowledgeable staff. I know everyone has bad days but there have been multiple occasions where the staff seemed absolutely miserable such that you couldn't help but feel the tension. There've also been a couple moments when I've asked some fairly straightforward beer questions and the servers would provide unsatisfactory responses.

True that, Pulp and Galaxy Juice were amazing. I thought Galaxy Sauce was godawful though. I think you're right regarding there being some winners by virtue of their production rate. And when they hit the mark it's amazing. I would like to see them can less of the misses, and just generally be a little less heavy handed with some of their beers; i.e less overpowering flavors of sea salt, coconut, etc. I would echo what you said about their service too. It can be absolutely awful at times, reminded me of walking into a depressing part of Moscow complete with scowls, bad attitudes, and short tempers.

Huh, as a recent visitor from the Northeast, I though the service was great on the day I was there (albeit a Tuesday afternoon). I am sure we would all love all knowing and perfect service but what exactly do you all think these people get paid to serve the much less than grateful beer snob crowd?

On the subject of what is "godawful" and what is not, keep in mind that taste is all a matter or opinion. The beer world has way too many people who feel that their opinion should be shared by all, no need to add more.

Sometimes you have to appreciate what you have, I would be more than happy to have these guys join the awesome breweries we have up here in New England, and think they would fit in well.

As a frequent visitor, I can assure you it's not an isolated incident. Definitely not expecting red carpet service or being BFFs with the barkeep but it would be great to see the staff having fun instead of sporting the scowls I normally see. Maybe that's indicative of the work environment, I don't know. Just merely pointing out an observation. It's never awful enough to pose a problem, especially if they continue to churn out product I like, but since on-site consumption seems to be a major part of their business, I'd expect there to be more emphasis on hospitality.

I stopped in last Friday for some of the Coffee and Milk IPA and as a person who also LOVED the Stone Dayman IPA I think you would be happy with how this turned out. To me Fieldwork's Coffee and Milk was heavier on the coffee than the Stone Dayman as I remember it for what it's worth.

Anyone try the latest batches of Pulp and Orchard St? I can't front, I'm a little reluctant to plop down some money unless I hear of reports that say they're back on track.

From pics of Orchard St, it looks clear'ish. What happened to Fieldwork? I haven't liked their beers in months.

Can't comment on Pulp, but Orchard Street at Sac locale today was somewhat lacking dynamic attributes though still with moderate haze, in general it felt a bit mute though enjoyable. A solid beer, but not quite as good as my previous experiences.

Was digging Hop n Glo, crazy easy drinking for the ABV, and finally got to taste BA Eliza...tasty.

Thanks for the update. A friend told me the pour of Pulp he had this evening had a bitter finish that wasn't characteristic of previous batches. I have a bunch of beer in the fridge anyway so they're probably doing me a favor.

The last batch of Pulp was money... that's a shame to hear the inconsistency between their batches of IPA's

I felt like the last canning run of Pulp was the best batch yet. Way more tropical fruit notes, but still had a great bitterness on the backend. I haven't tried the batch they released yesterday, but I that they really have that beer dialed in.

I really like the last batch of PULP as well.

Hoping to get over there this week to try the latest Pulp for myself. I am a little leary with the negative reviews of the most recent runs of other beers.

So I had a pour of Pulp today and didn't detect any of the off flavors found in some of the recent batches of their hoppy beers. I thought it was plenty citrusy and had the smooth mouthfeel of previous batches, but had some more bitterness in the back end. It was a good enough pour that I'll return to get a growler fill. I hope this is a sign of good things to come.

They just released info on their next can release. Painted Gold and a new IIPA, East Side Motel cans will be released on 3/31. Cans of Super Saint Thomas and Pulp Free will be released on 4/2. Surprised to see them can Pulp Free, I thought they would retire that beer after Pulp came out.
