Fieldwork does some of my favorite West coast IPAs without a doubt. Ascender, Shoreline, Storm Surge, Misfit Steam, Stereotypical, Relative Hoppiness, Convergence...I could go on and on

Ascender put Fieldwork on my radar at the Richmond Republic blind IPA tasting during beer week in Feb 2016. Then I went to the brewery and had Storm Surge and Misfit Stream and new Fieldwork was legit. But when my friend brought growlers of Relative Hoppiness to a party a couple weeks later I knew they'd be one of my favorite breweries moving forward.

Yeah, Stereotypical was awesome. Went last weekend, had it, got 3 crowlers of it, finished them all. Yum

They really do. Ascender, Shoreline, and Stereotypical are just awesome (sad I missed out on Relative Hoppiness). These guys (Fieldwork) seem really dialed in at this point.

New DIPA out today on tap at Berkeley.

    Crayon Box, 9.3%

Deceptively pale and drinkable, this bi-coastal hop treat brings all the juice from the east to meet with the crisp refreshing qualities of the west. Crayon Box Double IPA not only quenches our hop-curiosities, but also our need for the smashable juicy Double IPAs

Wow, looks like they've hired Modern Times' copywriter for these.

Always been amazed at the poetry of the beer descriptions on Fieldwork's site. Probably the best in the business. Modern Times I feel goes too over the top for me at times. Someone had complained about it in the MT thread and I completely felt the same way.

    Ha . . . I definitely didn't intend it as a compliment.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I'm loving Fieldwork these days, especially this last batch of Pulp. I guess as a copywriter myself, I find it all a little over the top.

These come straight from Fieldwork owner/brewer Alex Tweet.

You know..... the guy that used to brew/work at Modern Times.....

On twitter I asked Alex when Saint Monroe will be back, and he said it was a one off, one time brew.

I hope its not true and they bring it back soon and often. That beer was mind blowing amazing. Was happy to track down a keg at toronado after it blew at fieldwork.

Was just going to say this! Hes talked about writing the tasting notes before. Might have been the hop grenade podcast fieldwork did.

There's not enough lager makers in the microbrew world IMO. I do like their Outdoor Pils quite a bit.

Damn. That stuff was dangerously crushable when it came out on tap a few months ago. Will have to readjust the budget for cans, yet again.
