Is Saint Thomas NE IPA different from regular Saint Thomas IPA? Or has it always been considered a NE IPA (seemed very "west coasty" to me)?

I'll be in Sacramento Sunday morning for an event and Galaxy Juice gives me an excuse to finally visit the new taproom.

Got a fill of Galaxy Juice tonight. It's great to live two blocks away.

So I did go yesterday and had all their NE style offerings they had on tap:

Stump (NE pale ale w/Galaxy, Mosaic, El Dorado) - my favorite of the bunch! It's more subtle, but also more complicated than the other 3 beers here.

St. Thomas (Mosaic NE IPA) - I had this once before and it was completely clear. This batch is similar, but sliiightly hazy. That being said, I was struck by how tasty it was, and how much I liked this more than the first batch. Not sure if I'd put it in the same NE category though.

Galaxy Juice (Galaxy NE IPA) - Now we're talking. Just as I remembered. Super pineapple juicy with some herbaceousness. As much as I liked CM's Double Moonage, I prefer GJ because it's not as boozy. This is just perfect.

St. Monroe (Amarillo NE DIPA) - Tried this last weekend at a beer bar but wasn't blown away. Straight from Fieldwork, I liked this one a lot more. They're about to run out, but if they ever have it on tap again, I wouldn't mind another glass.

I tried some West Coast IPAs, their hoppy Pilsner and their Churro Cream Ale this time around. I would say that although they're competent in that stuff, I do think Fieldwork's best offerings are their NE style beers. I'm glad they exist!

As their Sacramento Facebook page seems to be focusing on their hoppy creations, I have to give a shoutout to the Rancher Farmhouse Ale.

Tremendous beer. Just tremendous. Go get some.

Do they growler/crowler this? Or much in general? I have yet to have anything from Fieldwork and I think it's time to change that.

Pulp is probably my favorite of the ones I've had.

Agreed - pulp has been my favorite but I just cracked a Galaxy Juice that sat in the crowlers for a week and it's giving Pulp a run for its money on personal favorite.

Hard to tell which one I like more--maybe Pulp, but not by much. I also really enjoyed Canopy when it was out late spring.

Tried the "Hannah In The Wild" Brett Biere de Garde. Solid.

PULP is still on tap in Sac. Got another Crowler to go. Great Beer, maybe my favorite??? Tough call.

Anyone going to their fundraiser event at the Berkeley taproom tonight? They are going to have Double Dry Hopped Galaxy Juice and Chocolate Churro on cask. All proceeds from the cask sales go toward a veterans charitable organization, Swords to Plowshares. And for all the A's fans out there, Sean Doolittle will be in the house and tapping the casks.

Definitely going to be stopping by on my way back from school. Maybe get another growler fill of Pulp and knock down a couple of pours of that cask Galaxy Juice.
