Fieldwork appreciation thread

Just got a glass (and a crowler) of Orchard Street. It might be my favorite Fieldwork beer to date. Lots of fruit/hop juice complexity, without the overabundance of booze of Saint Monroe. Single hopped Amarillo should be used more often, considering its beautiful result.

 

Still haven't made it there even though it's a block away. Midterms are having a negative impact on my beer tasting schedule.

 

In college....... "Cs" equal Degrees. Get over there for a beer!

Hit Fieldwork again this weekend. As I mentioned last week and a few others have echoed, "Orchard Street" is damn good. I really hope that one sees a return after this batch is gone.

If they were to do a canning run I think they would have a hit on their hands with OchSt. Still puzzled why they haven't done a few more special bottles or can releases. Their model seems to be just new taprooms.

 

So I did make it into the Sacramento Fieldwork last Saturday night. My beer reviews are the Octoberfunk was a bit disappointing and woefully undercarbonated. The Orchard Street is excellent and compares well with Track 7 Sukahop. The salted coconut porter was also awesome. Maybe because it was Saturday night they were pumping the music which was causing people to talk louder and given the tight corridor-like nature of their room it was really loud inside.

 

Fyi. Galaxy Juice is back on tap at Berk, Sacramento and Napa on Saturday.

Growler fill time for me tomorrow at 11am!

 

Had the new Island Time, Tropical sour ale. Pretty good. Had that sour hit of tropical fruit, but a few other fruit as well.

Several people there at the Sac tap room today before noon getting Galaxy Juice growler fill ups.

 

Not surprised that Galaxy Juice would bring people out. I'm personally waiting for the Sac taproom to get Strawberry Tart Farmhouse. Sounds delicious.

Island Time, tropical Ale was solid. I think they will bring this one back.

 

Galaxy Juice was damn good. Hopefully it lasts through today for another growler fill after work.

 

Orchard Street back on tap again at Berk, Sac and Napa. Interesting that they have brought this one back again so soon. Must have been popular the first run in late October.

 

I missed it the first time around so I'll be heading over there in a few minutes to get a fill.

 

Flew to SF from LA this past weekend. FieldWork was definitely my favorite brewery, especially that Chocolate Milk on nitro and Orchard Street.

 

Which other ones did you visit?

 

Cellarmaker, Rare Barrel, Russian River, Mikkeller bar, ThirstyBear and 21st Amendment.

 

Yeah, that Chocolate Milk nitro or not is ridiculous. Orchard St. is great too. Salted Coconut is another dark brew that I thought they've recently done very well.

 

Funny thing is weekends are the worst time to go to Cellarmaker since they usually tap new stuff on Tuesdays. Case in point... they just added two new taps today: a hazy pale & a porter.

That being said... I did really enjoy Orchard Street a lot. It's my favorite Fieldwork beer. I'll try that Choco Milk next time I'm in Berkeley.

 

Mmmm, Chocolate Milk, delicious! Enjoyed OS, but liked Pulp even more.

 

16 oz Pulp cans released on 11/23 at all 3 locations.
