I was a little confused too. I went to San Mateo yesterday since it was just a little out of my way between appointments, thinking I'd grab some Pulp lol

Ended up getting the big boy Loser's Club just cuz I was there. Even though I like to max my cans at 8.5%

 

Loser's Club was delicious, but the real lesson of Saturday was that I should have been there Friday for Blackberry Parfait. Would have loved some cans of that to share around and revisit in a month or two.

 

Enjoyed Haunting mansions. Good mouthfeel, creamy but not too thick. Nice hop profile, hint of citrus, little bit of a bite, almost like a rye ipa. Honey addition was just there at the end.

 

I grabbed cans of Blackberry Parfait and Loser's Club on Friday. Grabbed cans of Pulp and Haunting Mansions on Saturday. No lines on both days, in and out in 5 minutes. This Parfait series is some of their best work. This batch of Pulp is tasting awesome. Haunting Mansions was really a nice surprise for me, enjoyed it a lot more than I expected.

All of the above made me very happy this weekend. Good shit, Fieldwork!

 

I feel like Fieldwork has continued to impress and improve with all of thier offerings. In my mind, they have eclipsed ASB as my favorite bay area IPA producer. Love their dark beers too. For some reason, I think they would make a killer BA barleywine if they tried.

 

They made a BA Old Ale that got some pretty bad reviews last time I checked. Sadly, I have a bottle in the fridge. I’m waiting on a time when folks come over so that I can distribute the pain.

 

I was able to pick up some blackberry parfait and a can of Loser's Club. Loser's club was surprisingly good, but blackberry parfait was something else. I am really excited for further releases in the parfait series.

 

I can't lie, Loser's Club was way better than I expected. I don't know why I didn't have high expectations, other than the high ABV, but it was dank and hid the alcohol well. Still annoyed I missed out on Pulp though...

 

i did as well, and phantom, but i got enough beer atm, wave jammer will hold me over.

back to back to back releases has been a bit rough, it’s kinda nice to have no release this weekend.

 

You still have Wave Jammer? Those don't last long in my house lol

 

Pleasantly surprised with Haunting Mansions as well.
Did see that Virtual Planetoid is coming back and that is a beer i would make the trip over the bridge to get a crowler of!

 

If I order a crowler on their website today, will they fill it today and hold onto it until Friday? Their pre-order page doesn't mention any sort of pickup window, other than you need to order before 8 pm for it to be available tomorrow, and if you order after 8, it will be the same as if you ordered it tomorrow, and won't be available until the next day (so maybe I should just order at 8:30 if I'm going to be there Friday).

 

Having some Blackberry Parfait withdrawals. Man I really enjoyed it.



Loser’s Club made me feel like a winner as well.
I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed this beer, and at how well it hid the 9.something AbV.


Really bummed I missed out on Haunted Mansions. It sounds and looked really great.

 

Anyone have any more information as to when the next Parfait release will be? I know they have made other ones in the past, I am hoping there are more coming up soon.

 

well they made the first one last month, so hopefully it will be a monthly release. but there’s zero way to know for sure. if you dig that one you should try alvarado tayberry, which is all over the place right now

 

I actually do have a can of Tayberry that I’m looking forward to having. My buddy @AllHopsMatter scored some cans for us. As far as the Parfait goes, I’m looking forward to upcoming releases.

It's looking like FW is not having anything to do with Sac Beer Week from what I can tell. Beyond odd.

There's a wine event called Dress Up & Wine Down this Saturday which will shut down Capitol Ave and it centered 1 block from FW. I'll be pouring my wines at this event but I really signed up for this knowing I can pre-event at FW =)

So if anyone is going to this event (runs 6-8) or wants to meet for a beer at FW, I'll be there.
