Yeah, I am not desperate for more beer right now. Not because I have a huge backlog, but just cuz I am trying to cut back for the sake of my midsection lol

What did people think of Scream Citra Scream? That was one i really wanted to get my hands on, but decided not to brave the bridge lol

Good find! That Blueberry Parfait will definitely be a max allocation for me - that's the one I've been dreaming of since I tried Raspberry Parfait for the first time. Tangeberry also sounds delicious.

Hey so for you parfait fans, can you all describe what it is you like about them? I've only had Blackberry and Strawberry. So far, I'm not impressed. There's a sort of syrupy medicinal quality that I can't quite get over.

yeah blueberry is definitely one id like too

ive only had raspberry so far ad it was excellent, what you are describing i can totally see in the strawberry one, strawberry tends to taste medicinal to me in beer.
black berry i havnt gotten around too (tonight sounds like a good night tho!)

For me, there is a nostalgic quality to the parfait series. I gave up drinking soda a while back, but I always loved Fanta as a kid. These beers are the closest thing to the adult version of those sodas.

More specifically on the taste of the beer, I enjoy the balance between sweetness and tartness of the Blackberry and Raspberry variants. I'm also a fan of lactose and the mouthfeel that comes with its use in a beer. I can see why people are turned off by this style, and how some people don't even really consider these like beer. I didn't get a medicinal quality to the first two that I tried, but I will say that the Strawberry was my least favorite of the ones they have released - mostly because it was way sweeter than the others.

Also, this is one of the few beers that my wife and I can agree on drinking together. It's fun to share a beer with her and kind of geek out over it together.

Thanks for the descriptions @KevSal and @crico925. The raspberry seems to be more universally loved. I wish I got a chance to try it. For me, what was missing from the latter two releases was a higher level of tartness and more subtle sweetness. I'll be sure to get splashes before picking up cans in the future.

Yeah, I think I rank them in the order they were released - the Raspberry was killer. Each one has been a little sweeter than the last, but I'm hoping the kick the tartness up with future releases. I'd be curious to know how they brew these and if they are keeping the process the same with each beer. If they are adding the same amount of fruit per barrel with each release, then it would make sense as to why the Strawberry variant came out sweeter.

I had either the raspberry or blackberry one about a month ago, and yeah, I got that medicinal taste. It's gotta be from the lactose. Almost every beer with lactose I've had has had it (the only one I can think of that didn't was a Tired Hands milkshake). I liked the parfait I had, but I think they'd be way better sans lactose.

I've been surprised by how much I like the parfait series and ultimately I think it's a combination of the sweetness playing with the sour, and for me, the "safety" of the lactose - there's just something very comforting, to me, about dairy. I will admit though, I do feel somewhat guilty for liking these so much and definitely understand criticisms of the style.

It was very tasty. Heroes was good too, at least initially. And thank you in regards to the glass! Sorry about not being able to snag you one of those sours!
