I had Rainbow Parfait at Pints for Paws. That was my favorite brew of the event.

All taprooms have it on tap as well right now, I would like to go try it. Sounds tasty as hell

I had this on Saturday and it was seriously ridiculously good. I hate how busy I am this week otherwise I would be back there tonight.

    Interesting.

The group I was with all seemed to feel like it was just…fine. I got to it first and was careful not to influence anyone else's first taste, but we all seemed to agree. What did you like so much about it? It just seemed pleasant and inoffensive, without being super interesting.

We also found Rainbow Parfait spectacular. The crowler in the photo they're using for it is a tease though!

ha that is interesting, so many things could have gone into play here. firstly i had htem both from the can. i had it right after paul, which has a much bigger body and is slightly sweet, so maybe following that with a light flavorful single made it pop. add in the ddh which made it super soft and i love citra, plus the 80+ degree weather?

    man i want one now

ok i really dont get it

4.43 on untappd, good but nothing better than what fieldwork is pushing out

bissel for christ sake! 4.41 on untappd, good but not better than fieldworks best! i will say their swish is crazy good tho

    makes no sense!!

does fieldwork need to have 1 amazing balls out great beer to start getting the rest of their beers the scores they deserve?

is the owners actions and attitude attribute to the lower scores?

does opening a taproom in sac, somewhat intruding into a thriving market lead to lower scores?

business tactics in general disapproved by most?

too many casual drinkers drinking and rating their beers?!?

or the big one, are other markets fueled so much by secondary selling its leading to immediate 5/5 on all beers while CA drinks and rates not for these purposes??

Dude I'm with you, and this came up recently about fieldworkf. I feel the same way about all the NorCal beers other than Moonraker (their ratings are generally fair on IPAs). I consider an untapped 4+ around here a beer I need to try, and I'm rarely disappointed. But then I travel to other regions, or get a trade of a 4.2+ beer, and I'm constantly shocked. The 2018 3 Way from Fort George, and any Block 15 beer are perfect examples I just had last week in Seattle.

Not quite sure what you mean by that last part . . . were the 3-Way and Block 15 good or not good?

Sorry, meant that they are rated highly (3-Way at 4.28 is crazy to me, although it's gradually gone down the past week (was at 4.38), so maybe folks are coming to the realization that the hype was driving the score up), and I feel they are 3.75-4 max

How are can lines/availability in San Mateo? I'll be up there this weekend for a quick trip, and planned on stopping in. It'd be nice to bring some stuff home.

It varies from “quiet” to “surprisingly busy” without much warning. If you read back there was one notable shitshow, but that was the anniversary releases, and they had two people call in sick.

In general if you want to be sure of cans, arrive by the time they open. Limits are based on turnout and not every release even survives the initial onslaught.

Thanks! We'll probably not be doing any sort of rush into Fieldworks, so if we can't get anything, it's no big deal. Do those cans generally last the day if it's something not special?

I'll likely be dropping in on Saturday at some point, probably at night.
