It's far from a Meh beer, you might not like the pricing point, but IMO there are all good beers. Some are better though. The Elijah Craig 20 is phenomenal and it's worth the pricing point quite easily. If this was a $20 beer it would disappear from the shelves, but at $30 perhaps a once in a blue moon beer.

yeah, grabbed on on Xmas Eve at Binnys in Downers Grove...I did get a vanilla, and that seemed to be the only one that sold at all. I've only had an Eclispe once before, and i thought it was good...as noted a number of times, it's the price point that I have issues with. It's a 'once every couple years' purchase IMO.

Never had any of them, due to them not being available in my state. But if they were, I would buy one of each of them at $30 a piece without hesitation!

Grabbed a vanilla and it was delish. At $37 though I wouldn't buy it again.

These just sit...and sit...in Binnys all over Illinois. Frankly given the relatively low abv for barrel-aged imperial stout, I've always worried I'd spend $30 on a beer that's too thin to stand up to barrel-aging.

Saw some today at a local bottle shop $30 each. Doesn't look like they are moving very well. There was a Facebook post about the beers a few days ago, the store still had a lot in stock. I'll pass on $30 a bottle too much money for my budget for a first time beer.

I feel that they are pretty pricey myself but the ones I've had are very good, so I guess it just comes down to if you feel like paying for them.

2012 4 Roses was the best before this year's Vanilla for 27.99. Drank it Christmas eve with some soon to be family. Not quite vanilla rye but definitely worth a try.

Speaking of Alabama, if anybody else in the Auburn/Opelika area is interested in a '15 Vanilla Eclipse and would be willing to chip in on a case, send me a PM. We can order it, but it has to be a whole case. I'm not going to buy a whole case by myself -- I only want one bottle -- but if I find enough others, we can split it.

Or, if you already have a Vanilla Eclipse, we could do a bottle share. I could bring a bottle of any of the other variants. Vanilla is the only one I couldn't get. i also have a couple variants from 2014.

What other distributed above-average vanilla BA imperial stouts can you buy right now? There aren't that many, although Avery's offering should be good too.
