I saw a 3L bottle of eclipse (empty) in a friends cellar the other day and he said he bought it in ca at the brewery but didn't really have any more information on them. I was thinking about trying to trade for one and I'm just looking for information on these like what varients were made, the cost, how many were made and if any other beers came in this format. Also if anoyne has traded one or traded for one.

I can't remember all the specific details but it seemed like bottle count was around 5 for each variant. I remember their being EC12, EC18 and HH for sure. Then there was at least one variation (maybe 2?) of BART. They were pretty pricey though...again I don't remember the specifics but it seems like they were around $150-160ish and were available by lottery. I "won" the right to purchase an EC12.

Someone else who was at the party might know more specifics.

I was lucky to come across an ISOFT offering a 3l EC18 for a 3l Consecration. It had already been up for a while and was back on the 3rd page or so. Somehow, nobody had swooped on the offer yet so I went for it. I already have a batch 004 Temptation saved for my wedding, so I figured it would offer my guests and me some nice variety.

The point of that is I think it'll take something very specific on a case by case basis to get someone to part with one of these pricy and rare behemoths. I'm guessing those who bought these did so with the intention to either open them or go wale hunting.
