Had 'em both at the party. Banana is good, but like most banana beers (much less barrel aged rum beers), could be polarizing opinions. German Chocolate is phenomenal. Like Coconut Eclipse, it takes no back seat to anybody when it comes to delivering sheets of coconut flavor while cradling the balls with chocolate and bourbon.

Its pretty much the same as every Eclipse has been the past decade plus:

Quality and cost are on the significantly above average side of the spectrum.

    Banana sounds nice.

I had a local non BA banana walnut stout during the fall and it was quite good. Not over the top at all. Wish it was canned/bottled.

    Enjoy

I was at 25$ for the new size format. Pretty sure close to same the price per ounce however. I actually still see prior years bottles sitting on the shelves. I attribute it to having few of the 'sexy' ingredients you see in stouts today. However, I think the market is more of the cross-over from Whiskey and beer drinkers. That niche would understand the beer base, plus respect the barrel it was put into.
This year, I admit, I was a sucker for the adjuncts they added and skipped over the Imp Stout aged in just a single barrel
