So here I am, 2 weeks after brew day and it's almost time to transfer to my keg. In my previous post i talked about how the hops had expanded in their sacks and filled the carboy with hop particles. Most of you had talked about running the wort through a mesh strainer when transfering to the carboy from the pot. Is it posible to do that now when i cyphen from the carboy to my keg? If so what's the best method? My wife recomends using a cheese cloth, i was thinking a very fine strainer (cleane and sanatized).

Before I also mentioned that i was having issues with my airlock getting filled and clogged with hop particles and the wort filling it up so i've been having to dump and clean it then replace it back on the carboy. one time when replacing it the cork that kept it on place went into the wort causing me to have to open the lid of the bucket i'm using for my carboy and grab it out. It just happen toi be on the bottom on the carboy at the time. as soon as i got it out i replaced the lid and cleaned the cork then replaced everything. How could this adversly effect my batch? Will it still be drinkable? Or will it be unbairably disgusting?

Sanitize that cheese cloth and use that. Your beer will be just fine even though you dropped it in as long as you sanitized your arm, hands. If that cloth is too fine and gets clogged while transferring to your keg, use the fine mesh strainer.

Oh, when your transferring your beer from the boil pot into your carboy, it will clog up. you will hate it. Insert your funnel into the carboy, use a double mesh stainless strainer by laying it on the funnel. they cost 13 bucks. A colander works in a pinch too.
