I just got my Plinian Legacy kit from Northern Brewers this week and getting ready for a Sunday Brew Day. They gave me a O.G. of 1.070 but nowhere can I find a final gravity. I tried to call but can't get through on a Friday afternoon (go figure). I am sure a few of you have done this kit and was hoping to get an idea about the final gravity. Thanks in advance!!

Not sure about that kit in particular, but Pliny is pretty damn dry, more so than a lot of DIPAs out there. I'd shoot for 1.010 or under. I'm guessing that kit came with sugar for extra fermentables so it should finish dry pretty easily.

I'm guessing they don't provide a final gravity because FG is dependent on a lot of variables, like how much yeast you pitch, how healthy the yeast is, what temperature you ferment at, etc., and even more variables when brewing all-grain. Original gravity, however, especially for an extract beer, is much easier to predict/target.

The clone recipe that Vinnie released to the world a couple years back listed the FG as 1.011. I imagine you want to end up around there.
