Today Free The Hops (and many other AL BA's) managed to successfully change Alabama's size restriction on beer. Now we can have bottles up to 750ml in size. Bring in the good stuff guys, and congrats to all my fellow BA's in Tuscaloosa and around the state. Also, to MS folk, you're welcome on this side of the line anytime.

Nice. Free The Hops has been fighting for the rights of fine beer lovers for you guys for a while now, I remember the info. on this site was pretty interesting last year.

Often we cannot understand how restrictive the states of our neighbor BA's can be.

Cheers! Alabama, let's hope all the rest of needed change comes your way.

I heard the Homebrew bill might be hitting the Senate tomorrow as well, hopefully you ALabamians can legally do that soon as well.

Yeah this legislative term ended today (or yesterday rather, Wed.) The Bottle Size Bill was initially turned down but massive amounts of emails and phone calls caused them to re-vote. The Home Brew Bill does still have a chance tomorrow, but as of this moment it is technically illegal to home brew. One step at a time though. The home brew law is expected to pass soon.

this was a big step, but it still needs to be signed by the governor. a pocket veto is in play, so he must sign it for it to become law. please politely urge him to do so.

    email gov. bentley here: http://governor.alabama.gov/contact/contact_form.aspx

I would call it the Beer Irony Bill. All those great beers, but no bombers allowed. Congrats, Free The Hops. Hope your patience pays off. We're waiting for those fine bombers in Mississippi, come July 2nd. Cheers.

    Glad to hear it, guys!

As much as people complain about PA state liquor laws, we have nothing close to what you guys down south deal with. Keep fighting the good fight!
