But why picket outside the brewery when he could just go inside and get the cans he wants? Lol.

Here in NYC if you don’t have a car it’s kind of hard to get to Finback to buy cans. No good quick public transportation to the brewery. Different boroughs man. Brooklyn to Queens, It’s like a whole separate state.

With the L train being shut on weekends now, Finback might as well be on Mars its so hard to get to without a car.

I can only imagine the hassle. I have only been to NYC once for a Rangers game. Way to busy for my liking. I certainly would not own a car if I had to live there.

I feel bad for ya'll, It kinda shocks me they have no local distribution. I'm going to drive by 2 stores on my 10 minute commute home from work that will certainly have Finback on the shelf (Marty's and CBC Newton). What about Other Half, and Kane's? I never see those in stores up here, are they more available down there?

Other Half does not distribute cans period but they have ramped up production so its not that hard to get cans anymore outside of shitshow releases like the past two weekends. Kane only distros Head High cans to a few places in NJ, rest is brewery only.

I should clarify, some Finback cans do see distributions. Its weird, seems like my local shops only get the pilsners and flagship IPA. Occasionally their IPA's too, but the higher ABV and more sought-after stuff I can never find.

Faster than Light bottles made it up to Massachusetts. It was cheaper to ship a bottle to my hotel when visiting Boston that to trek out to the brewery...

Maybe I'm just blind but I wasnt able to track down a can of Heinous. Hoping Wretched and Don't Kill The Whale show up. Don't think Coquito was distro'd either...

I’ve only ever seen Finback cans in one store in the outer boroughs and it’s usually just Finback IPA or Telephone Lines Pilsner from months ago.

I know Basil is from RI/Mass (Pawtucket), so perhaps the larger distribution to Massachusetts has something to do with that?

Picked up Rolling in Clouds and Yellow Cake yesterday from the brewery. Dont Kill the Whale was good but would have preferred more dankness with all those hops.

Coquito was good and they had cans for sale/on-site consumption.

Is the L line closed every weekend for the foreseeable future ?
I'm in Willamsburg for week at the end of May and did fancy visiting their taproom.
Google maps give a route of the L to Myrtle-Wyckoff then pick up the Q55 bus.
So trying to figure out the best way to get there on a Sunday.

    Cheers

Not necessarily, the current closing stops mid-March, but it could close again in May. Either way the shuttle busses are easy to take, or you could take the Q54 there. There's also a MTA bus time app that tells you where the busses are.

Thanks, seems I have a couple of options. A little early I know, but half the fun is the planning. Cheers

    Telephone lines is awesome.

As for the tequila BQE - I have yet to have a tequila aged beer that I’ve enjoyed. This is especially odd since I love tequila. Guess its the same but opposite with brandy aged beers. I hate brandy but beers aged in brandy are awesome.

I'm still waiting on the 3 prior ones to get up here.

Hand it over I feel like got up here in a couple days after it was released. But Jadda!, Collective Dreaming, and Psycho Killer (I did see this one get to Maine, at Bier Cellar) are still not in my wheelhouse. Hoping they get up here this weekend, followed quickly by the Splash/Fat Peach/Telephone lines cans.

Collective dreaming looks really good. Really liked Wretched and Heinous so have high hopes for Jadda!

Orange Crush was awesome. Hand it over was awesome.

Jeweled Shard This might be my new favorite IPA from them. I hope this is a rotational offering.

Don't kill the whale, was ok. But as someone else pointed out, I expected this to be much hoppier with everything they used. It was kinda bland, with everything just getting jumbled together, and nothing really shining through to give it a distinct taste.

I have noticed my Treehouse visits down these past few weeks, as ive been getting my hop kick from Finback. Maybe I was just worn out on TH with it being the top hops in the state and my frequent consumption of it. But Finback IPAs are my new thing, and I like my IPA fresh fresh, so you can only buy and drink so many. The fact there is not a 1 hour and 30 minute round trip commute, and a 1 hour line at my local liquor store helps a great deal too.

Anyone try the Tequila BQE last night? Saw it’s on at Top Hops and Bierwax.
