    That was me!

To be clear, it was not run well. I was planning on going tomorrow, but was going to be in bushwick now anyway. I guess if I was deadset on picking up everything I'd be more ticked because I would've showed up early to ensure I got everything.

I'm speaking for my experience only. Today was most likely the last time I will ever go to Finback after the absolute shit show that today's release was. I had even brought beers to share with the staff inside since I usually get a great treatment whenever I show up to Finback.

I showed up at around 11:30, after hitting arguably one of the smoothest Other Half releases in recent memory. I was almost at the corner and met some chill people. When the line didn't get let in at noon, I figured it just meant that I could do some more line sharing of cans before heading inside. The group I ended up hanging out with helped me kill a couple nice cans before we even got to the front door after 1:15.

We decided that we would all share a standard pour (out of plastic glassware) of all the releases today. The Sand City collab was ok, nothing to write home about. The Søle collab was a lot better. And the BA stout (bourbon variant) was not that impressive either. After two hours, I ended up leaving with the beer I was looking for and a rather miffed attitude.

I'm sick and tired of Finback running high demand releases with one fucking POS system. It's asinine to
assume your fans will wait for beer with one register. It's downright insulting to do nothing about it FOR THE YEAR PLUS WE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT IT.

Other Half learned from their mistakes. Finback has absolutely no excuse. Basil, if you're reading this, understand that I have no problem with you. Only with how this shit show of a release was run. It was fucking disgraceful and the beer community deserves better than the abortion that we were given today.

So is the consensus that this stout isn't as good as their others? I was hoping it'd last until Wednesday when I can make it out but now I'm not sure if it's worth it...

I had the Bourbon variant on tap. There was a nice barrel nose and flavor profile, but it's no BQE. Between the Dead and Faster Than Light were both subpar stouts in my opinion.

Don't think that is the case. I thought the BA Faster was actually very nice. I bought the rye version, but the bourbon barrel version was really nice. [insert hate here] Much better than pretty much any stout I've had from OH (aside from short, dark, and wired). Between the Dead is also really good, I think Kermit is in the minority on that one.

Between the Dead on draft during the release tasted like sunscreen. The barrel wasn't overpowering on it, but it just was not for me.

To each their own. I had it on draft before buying as well, and that was not at all what I tasted. Everyone I have talked to about it loved it which is why I stated you were in the minority. Nothing more, nothing less.

I really enjoyed Between the Dead and BQE is probably one of my favorite BA Stouts so I'm still on the fence. Thanks guys

They blatantly ignore all issues at hand because they hand select which questions they answer on social media.. They could care less until they get hit hard in the wallet I guess.... They didn't even apologize in the instragram post today about the delay

I haven't opened my Between the Dead yet, but a lot of people were speaking highly of it after EBF and Wakefest fwiw

I agree with most of the opinions the past few hrs..you have a fucking YOGA event during a Sat release..and it's NYC Beer Week..SMFH..my 3rd time at Finback was my last..one POS is a joke and so are they..better options throughout city and L.I. HASTA LA VISTA DOUCHES

First and last time at Finback. Embarrassing release. I will say that the stout was very good. The IPAs were mediocre.

So I just saw this article from Thursday and it appears they PLANNED for back to back one hour yoga sessions at 11am and 12pm. Why the hell would they not disclose that in any of their social media posts? I didn't get to Finback til 1:30 but I'm actually pissed for everyone who had to wait without being provided any communication from the staff

The last release i went to was the first canning of Moss, and i remember being there with 5 people in front of me and watching the one guy behind the bar selling cans and then pour fing tastings. i waited almost a half an hour.

Sorry for whoever experienced that shit today.

stopped by about 5:30 pm tonight (Sunday) with the intention of buying a case of Oscillation and a case of HH Air Horn.

The place wasn't that busy, maybe 10 people at the bar. I waited, and waited, and waited, about 25 minutes total, but just could not get the attention of either bar tender, no eye contact. They are so slow and lackadaisical. These people have their heads up their asses. They are either understaffed, they just don't care or they are very poorly managed.

I left with nothing and will be spending that $200 at Interboro. Eff these guys. I have a feeling they don't even care how many cans they sell from the brewery because all the leftovers go out for distribution to Massachusetts tomorrow anyway.

The beer is above average, but nothing groundbreaking or any different that what you could find on the shelf at your local bottle shop. Will not be returning to this very poorly run brewery again.
