Anyone else notice the ABV is up from 9.3% to 11%? Thought BTD was great before, but with a presumably fuller mouth feel might be ever better.

Are there any good spots to grab something to eat around the brewery? Preferably within walking distance if possible.

Not that I know of, it's right smack in the middle of a residential neighborhood which is quite odd for a brewery. You're most likely going to have to drive to get food. I see people ordering pizza there though, so that may be your best bet.

Thanks, don't have a car so looks like I might be out of luck. Since I'm looking at a 2 hour round trip via the MTA I figured I would try to make the most out of the afternoon and hit up a local spot if possible since I don't go into Queens much. No biggie, pretty sure that stout is gonna be worth it.

I see people ordering Chinese and other stuff and I feel like they will have some food truck or something on site serving food. IG mention this at all?

Yeah the glendale area where the brewery is, is almost like Long Island and there's no subway/rail lines even close. I don't think their IG mentioned anything about a food truck, but there's usually always some sort of food service making stuff inside.

    That’s six bottles correct?

If someone wants to do the Lord’s work and post counts around 1:30-1:45 you’re the best. @RobNewton  (since I assume you’re headed out there).

I just got here and there’s maybe 40-50 people in line.

I just left and there was only around 15 people still in line. Not too many people were buying full cases of the stout, so you should be good. Had a taster of Four Year and Between the Dead before I left and both are excellent.

Just stopped by to get a 4pk of each and the stout, looked to be plenty left (as OH would say). No line. The tap room is quite crowded.

Granted I haven't had a lot of Finback's IPAs since there's so many others that are more readily accessible for me (I live in BK and don't own a car), but Four Year can definitely hang with some of the best of the five boroughs. I went to yesterday's release purely for Between the Dead, but this is up there with one of the better high abv IPAs I've had from the local players.

Agreed! Just came from the taproom myself. All cans/bottles still available. Four Year is very reminiscent of the OH TIPAs—perhaps a bit more tropical and syrupy in feel, but booze is marvelously hidden. Pataman continues Finback’s streak of nailing fruited IPAs... the peach/guava expression is excellent. Fans of Fat Mango should definitely seek it out. But the standout for me was Starship, which seems to be a draft-only raspberry sour they brewed for the anniversary. Literally a melted raspberry popsicle in beer form, perfect tart/sweet balance. The only analog I can think of is The Answer’s Joose series.. reminded me of the best I’ve had from that series in its smoothie-like consistency, maybe even better. Wish they’d can it, but I can understand why they’d have reservations given the amount of unfermented fruit that’s suspended in the liquid..

Went yesterday, all the new beers are excellent, and all were still available including the stout! I was surprised the stout was still there. I just missed out on the starship, the tap kicked right before I got there, I saw people drinking it and it looked awesome.

Enjoyed all the beers at Finback yesterday, including the 4 year, but man, the Pataman was delicious. It does hold up against other NYC hops, no problem.

After being surprised by how smooth Four Year was drinking on release day, I noticed it was canned on 4/25 (whereas Pataman was packaged 5/4). Certainly fine by me, as it is probably drinking better now than it was a week ago. But good to note for those thinking of picking up cans moving forward!

Anyone know is the bottles survived the weekend and will be on sale tomorrow? Tried calling / IG message, but now answer. Thinking of stopping by after work if they are.
