Any cans left of this? Going to try and make the trek over there this weekend. Want to bring at least a little something back with me.

On Sunday (8/23) I was told that they have one pallet of cans left ($16 per 4 pack). They also have bottles of plumb and proper. I really enjoyed this barrel aged sour ($13).

This is one hell of a trek from midtown by train.... took me about 1.5 hours. I hope you have a car!

I live in BK with no car and this is what's prevented me from checking out Finback

Finback visits/beer releases seem to be the best (and only) reason I can think of for signing up for Zipcar.

Thank you! Wow, Im off 45th & 10th & don't have a car. Had no idea this place was so far!

I used a Zipcar to hit up Target & grab larger stuff for the apartment last Sunday. The line at Target was worse than the OH lines at open. Pickup & dropoff of the zipcar was pretty smooth though.

Hey - i noticed you are new to NYC. If you haven't already, get the hopstop app. It tells you how to get around NYC using public transportation.

Google maps has transit directions since forever. And the newish mta bus time Web page actually tells you where the buses are so you can get to places like Finback.

This is great advice, and I'm gonna go ahead and suggest also getting Citymapper. Similar to hopstop, but has some additional functionality and features - at least it did when I switched a year or so ago. Might be the hopstop has caught up by now.

Well this beer is awesome. Glad I got a case. Excited for the next release.

I find it better out of the can as opposed to glass. There's been very few beers that I've come across that I feel that way about.

Maybe a polarizing comment here, but honestly curious what people think. Visited the Finback tasting room for the first time this weekend and was thoroughly disappointed. Trees & Leaves and Oscillation were alright, though the first had some odd artificial butter and phenol notes. Auspicious Day and Future Past were basically undrinkable — the first because of harsh medicinal notes, while the second tasted like watered-down tea, and not in a good way or one that seemed in line with its billing as a dry-hopped sour.

I've enjoyed BQE in the past and had a couple decent beers from Finback previously, but the overall experience this weekend left me scratching my head. Maybe poor temperature controls were to blame? Overly ambitious scaling up? Anyone else notice what seem to be objective problems with some of their beers?

I have not had a ton of their beers but I have been pretty disappointed with the ones I have had. I had high hops for Oscillation but I didnt find it very good. I'll give them a few more tries and see what I think before I write them off completely.

Hoping to stop in Thursday prior to the Brooklyn Brewery event, so I'm really hoping this is not the case for me. Things are still pretty quiet on here though, figured there must have been a reason. I also have not had any of their beers in a while (Buddy System, Auspicious Day, BQE) so I'll see how things compare to memory.

Did anybody grab some Starchild cans this weekend? So many releases this weekend that I skipped this one. Pretty sure that they did not sell out.
