Everything I had from then I thought was okay but nothing really great. What do you guys think? If you don't like them what suggestions would you make?

with all the amazing beer available in chicago, there is absolutely nothing in finch's lineup that is worth spending money on, especially after reading that one interview that more or less said that the brewery was started as a way to "expand the finch's brand" or some ungodly reason that had nothing to do with passion for beer.

Agree with everything said above. There are too many options better than Finchs for me to drop the cash on their cans.

Their new can options were very good calls for them to make as a business. Secret Stache is a good stout and I enjoyed Fascist Pig from the bottle.

It's nice to have a good local stout option in cans like that.

They also make some good cask experiments.. thought sadly they seem to leave the area mostly.

    Edit: Didn't vote.

Of the many great brewers cranking out hit after hit up in Chicago right now, I was not stoked that Finch's was the one picked up for Indiana distribution in 2012. (None of the cans say Daisy Cutter or Anti-Hero, pretty disappointing.) The few beers I've tried have been average at best. Also, they actively argue with anyone saying anything less than complementary about their brands on Twitter, even constructive criticism...while entertaining, it seemed counterintuitive to promoting their image.

    TLDR version: "No."

I don't particularly like any of their beers, except for Secret Stache. The kolsch they put in bottles was ok also, but the rest have had palpable flaws. I'll always try something new from them, though.

...While I won't pick sides here, I did find it odd that they posted some picture of a Half Acre employee's untappd account recently when they said something not so complimentary about one of Finch's beers.

Finch's is capable of making some enjoyable and tasty beers; unfortunately they are not the ones that you can easily purchase. Their lineup at FoBAB was quite good and as TheAlum said, they do some interesting casks from time to time. I have also had some stunningly bad beers from Finch's in the past; that being said from the periodic samples I've tried, I think the quality has improved a bit since my reviews were posted.

They've positioned them somewhere on the line between 'serious' craft and more flavorful mass market. The beers aren't really intended for the most vocal forum users on this website. While I probably won't buy their beers again, I know a number of people who regularly enjoy Threadless and Secret 'stache.

I "want" to like Finch, but just can't do it. All of their offerings have been below-average to average at best. I'm all for local and supporting Chicago breweries, but man, there are SO many other local Chicago breweries kicking Finch's butt hard-core.

I agree. They can be sooo much more! I wish they would listen to people and step up their game!

I wouldn't go that far. Breakfast stout is just as available and waaaay more tasty. Secret Stache is alright, but it's very very light on the mouthfeel and flavor.

I am talking for a vanilla stout, not a coffee stout!

I have yet to try Secret Stache, but my vote is no and part of the reason for not trying it is my dislike of what I've had so far. I don't think I've had a Finch's beer since this summer when the gf had Fascist Pig on draft and we both found it undrinkable.

Gotta say no. Enjoying a single beer (and actually disliking all the others) from a brewery is not enough.

    Loaded with drain pours.

Toasted Summer is the worst beer I have ever had.
