So I have to admit I don't post much. But I tried this over the weekend and was blown away by how tasty it was. Juicy, grapefruit and tropical bomb! It reminded me of Dirtwolf but in a 16oz can. It may be new go to DIPA for regular drinking (it's tough,Dirtwolf I love you so). Has anyone else tried this yet?

Great beer, really impressed with some of the new recipes coming from Finch's! (And the label isn't too bad either)

First Finch I finally got around to trying and was quite impressed. Too many beer choices here so some get overlooked. A solid dipa that easy to find.

Indeed, this stuff is liquid gold. Already on my 3rd 4pk. I've only seen it sold in one store, which is near me.

Didn't know Finchs made it that far away from Chicago, great to see!

Seriously impressed seeing as their core 3 I tried were so increbily underwhelming. Great price too

Yep, I had a sample poured for me over the weekend and honestly had to do a double take to make sure it was a Finch beer. I was pretty impressed.

That's weird. I couldn't finish mine. If my friend wasn't there to help me out, it would have been my first drainpour in years.

Why? What about it? Was interested in the very positive reviews until I see your post.

Well I just verified that you like IPAs since you have two hearted ranked highly (one of my personal faves)...so my only other conclusions are old can or maybe mistaken identity (you drank a different beer)?

I wasn't expecting much, but had my eyes opened after the first sip...was pretty surprised. And even if the profile isn't to your liking (which again I would find odd considering you dig 2h), definitely not drain pour material...

Chimera blows away two hearted. Not even close.

I wasn't trying to compare the two. Was just curious after reading his post if he even liked the style. Seemed that strange to me.

Yeah I agree. A "drain pour" seems kinda harsh on this one. I hate that term by the way.

I'm not sure how you can compare Chimera to 2H; they are completely different beers, imho. It couldn't have been an old can as I just recently starting seeing it on shelves around here. Also, no mistaken identity on my part. I even checked as I read this thread to be sure. I think we can just chalk this up to different strokes for different folks. Not to say that, given the opportunity, I wouldn't give it another chance. I won't purchase it again though.

I remember it being overly bitter but not in a good way. It just tasted weird to me. I don't recall much tropical notes that the OP had detected. I didn't take down any notes so I can't really expound on it any more than that; which is based on memory.

    It was just released

Anyway, I found it to be solid but not sure I'll get a 4-pack

    Yeah man...fair enough for sure.

Again though...wasn't necessarily trying to compare this to 2h. Just verifying that you are open to the style in general. I could see an ipa hater coming in here and talking drain pour, so that's the only reason I mention that you like 2h.

Yeah and was the complete opposite for me...low on the bitterness and a hefty dose of tropical fruit...different strokes indeed...it's what makes these forums fun.

4pk price here is 9.99. Plus I get a 10% off discount at this store using my NJ Craft Beer Card. Great deal, especially for tall boys and this stuff.
