And isn't Back Forty out of Gadsden? I've had mixed feeling about what I've gotten from them but some of it was quite good.

Back40 are Gadsden. And there is now a brewery in the Shoals - Singin' River.

There's also a brewery in planning in Guntersville, I think?

According to a friend of mine who works at Back Forty they will be releasing their Cuban Coffee Stout soon. It has been a brewery only beer for a while but now they've dialed it in and made enough to distribute. As far as I know it will be draft only though.

They also have their first barrel aged beer now on tap in their taproom and it's really good as well.

I am visiting in Montgomery from Florida and totally scored at a bottle shop here. Got everything from Eclipse to Westbrook to Straight to Ale to Good People......I was so happy I gave the beer manager a bottle of BCBS!

I live in the Anniston/Oxford area and there are a few spots you can check out for bottles next time you are in town. Smokin' Joes in Jacksonville has a decent selection and a motivated owner who always wants to carry what his customers are after. They also recently started a growler station. Tyson's Fine Wines and Things in Anniston has a good selection of over 100 offerings all displayed as singles. There are also a few gas station gems out there like Grub Mart in Jacksonville that quietly carry a decent selection. All of these places carry Straight to Ale, Good People, other locals, and nationally recognized craft offerings. Plenty of selection to get you by until you can make a trip to Birmingham or Huntsville for a more expansive selection.

**I originally missed the post that someone else helped you out. Good to hear. Happy hunting next time you are around.

I'd say Tuscaloosa is a great place to find in-state beers, especially on tap. But I second the Huntsville/Birmingham mentions otherwise. Grocery stores in Tuscaloosa usually have a decent selection of Good People, Blue Pants, Avondale, and Straight to Ale along with the larger craft brewers (New Belgium, etc.).

Moe's BBQ had a decent selection last time I was there, and a pretty good pulled pork sandwiche.
