    This from RRBC site.
    DISTRIBUTION:
We start distributing Younger on draft the week after we release it at our pubs. You will see it pop up in the Bay Area, Sacramento, So Cal, Oregon, Colorado, and Philadelphia generally by the end of February. We also just started distributing in the CA Central Coast region and are planning to send a few kegs of Younger their way for the first time. It is our recommendation that our accounts tap it as soon as possible after receiving their delivery to preserve the freshness and integrity of the beer. This beer is not meant to age. Pliny the Younger is very much like the fresh catch of the day and best enjoyed right away. If you are served old Pliny the Younger from one of our valued accounts, please notify us so that we can educate them, too!

So begins another season of Younger and other triple IPA’s.
Feel free to post any and all info on Younger releases for the Orange County and Los Angeles area.
Beachwood BBQ & Brewing have already started selling their 8th Annual Pliny Fights Cancer Charity Raffle at their Long Beach and Seal Beach locations.

to this day, I still haven't tried PtY(Pliny the Younger). It's funny because I will stand in line for Monkish but don't see myself standing in line for PtY

I think everybody needs to stand in line for Younger at least one time. You may like Younger? Or not. But it’s the experience. Only once. Or you can always buy a raffle or 4 at Beachwood. That’s my choice every year. Hops OF Fury is on right now. I like it better than Younger. Power Plant is another good triple. But if you can get a fresh bomber of Simtra from Knee Deep? Hell yes. But I haven’t seen anything fresh from Knee Deep down here in years. I think everybody who’s a ipa hop head needs to try Younger at least once. I may take the plunge and fly up to the new location this year if the timing is right.

And then change out the hops every so often and release it as a new beer to keep that hype train chugging along!

I think they are doing fine with its February release every year. There’s always going to be newbies in this craft world that hasn’t tried it yet (@HopHead89) who one day will take the plunge. And others that keep going back year after year for the hype. I haven’t had it since Beachwood first year raffles. I’m thinking about flying to Santa Rosa for this year’s release.

well if you took me with you on a plane ride to Santa Rosa to go wait in line to try PtY, I'm sure I would love the experience. I'll bring the Monkish, Let's Go!:stuck_out_tongue:

Beachwood raffle is for a good cause, I think it has a 20% win rate (I calculated this a while back uncertain if changed or maybe Beachwood gets more kegs with increased production)? Nice thing is you can go whenever during that period and redeem it with little to no waiting.

    Disclaimer: I 'donated' $50

I’m hoping to go on a Thursday or Monday. Hopefully no lines. You could always try your luck with the BW raffle or the lines here.

Gonna do my usual. Spend $20 at Beachwood, get a pint (maybe more) and enjoy if I get one.

If not, then, I'm not exactly crying. It is a DAMN good beer though.

I go to Surly Goat every year to get it, but last year they changed how they sell it (letting the line in at 6pm with everyone getting one ticket, but not tapping it until 8pm meaning you have to stand around in a really crowded bar either getting really drunk before having Younger or being uncomfortable waiting), so I'm not sure I'm going back.

Library Ale House gets it every year, but they don't announce it. Same with Boneyard Bistro.

David, a good friend of our's who lives in SF went to Windsor yesterday. Left his home around 10am got to RR/Windsor and walked right in, zero lines. He also said Vinnie and his wife personally greeted every single person who walked through the doors, nice touch.

    Cheers,

One of my best beer weekends ever was the Younger release in 2013 - the staff, the beers, the food, the people, and the Dodger Stadium style troff in the bathroom were all excellent. I haven’t had Younger since, but I’m going to make it a goal this year to get a pour.

Here are my prospects: Haven - pretentious and a first come first served line; Hollingshead - probably great beers along with Younger, but again another early AM line, and I’m I’m sure prices will be outrageous. The option I’m thinking about is Tustin Brew CO; I’ve never been, but if I recall correctly, you just go sometime in the AM, grab a ticket, and you are free to come back that day and redeem your beer - sounds great. Another place I swear I heard something about is The Anthill Pub off campus in UCI. I heard that’s it’s a wild card because no one knows about it, yet they get the Younger every year. Can anyone verify this? Thanks.

Agreed. They did the same thing on Friday. At the time, I just assumed they were doing this because it was the first day of Younger week, but your post makes me think they plan to do this every day of younger release. Very classy, IMHO.

In fact, the two of them were a very visible presence the entire time we were there. Natalie was wearing her "pink boots society" shoe attire. :sunglasses:

I can verify that the Anthill has had younger in the past, but that was years ago when I was I grad school. Worth a try, they always had a pretty killer beer selection
