Firestone Walker 18. What a strange and exciting barrel aged beer in my opinion. So, what do you BAs think of it? I think it is fantastic, and could only get better with at least a few months aging.

Landed yesterday at Mondo Vino if you're looking for it (of course, can't say whether they still have any). Picked up two bottles at $25/each last night. Little pricey, but I didn't want to bargain hunt and miss out. XVII was one of the best, most complex beers I've had, so while I'm waiting for a good occasion to crack this year's, it's tough to hold out!

Costco was selling them for 17.50 last weekend. Got a couple.

This years blend was hoppier than the last several years have been. Not overly so, but there is a noticeable hop presence. Wookie Jack, Double Jack, and Hydra Dog Cuvee were all in there.

Has anyone seen XVIII in San Francisco? It does not appear that my bottle shops have received them.

I am typically not a fan of bourbon barrel aged beer, as I am not a bourbon fan at all. (tequila was my poison) but Firestone Walker nailed it with this one. The Parabola contribution really shines, that's for sure! I may go back for a couple more if the local shop still has it, and let em' sit for 6 months to see what happens!

Can't wait for this to hit my area...if it doesn't elude me.
