The Imperial Special Bitter known as Firestone Walker Double DBA will be released July 15th. This comes from Matt Brynildson's Twitter. This is a great beer, can't wait to get it in bottles.

YES! I've been waiting for a real release date since they announced this. FW does no wrong in my eyes, and the people I know who have tried this said it was amazing.

Can we assume it will be around the same price point at Abacus and Parabola?

Looking forward to trying this new barleywine... Don't recall if they had it at the FW Invitational, if they did I missed it.

Yes. It is 12% and barrel aged, so it should be in that range.

I talked to my FW rep yesterday and it's definitely the same cost as Abacus an Parabola

If it costs as much as Abacus and Parabola then it better come in its own box.

Got to try it last year at a FS tap takeover night. Definitely drinks like a barleywine. Very excited to see it in bottles. Now if they would bottle slo-ambic...

Had it side by side with Sucaba at the Firestone Fest and felt it was better then Sucaba which is saying something.

Does anyone know what kind of barrels this is aged in?

Per Matt Brynildson "DDBA is always in a blend of barrels but yes - used union barrels for sure." I take this as they did a mixture of different barrels. Some in the Union Barrels, and some in different barrels, then blended together.
