Firestone Walker 18 in NJ?

I've been on the lookout in Northern NJ, but haven't seen it anywhere.

 

i asked at Gary's in Wayne and nothing yet there

 

Is it really time for this already? I thought I remember picking up XVII in like the spring of this year.

 

Everyone I talk to at the stores tells me how brutal the FW distributors are in NY and NJ. My guy got Velvet Merkin 2 months before Double DBA. He says the stuff just shows up with no warning. Very frustrating for them and us.

 

I saw stores getting stickee monkee after ddba up here. He had them out at the same time. I havent seen any velvet merkin in this neck of the woods either

 

That's because it takes so damn long for FW releases to get here! It was released about a month ago so we should hopefully start seeing it soon.

 

I seen to remember finding XVII right before Christmas last year, but hopefully XVIII gets here a little quicker.

 

Yeah I looked at when I got it last year and it was just before Christmas

 

It took over a month after VM came out in CA for us to start getting it over here. The beer manager at the store I go to has to contact the distributor frequently to get anything from them in a reasonable amount of time.

 

Talked to a beer manager I know in Morris County and he said they are expecting it next week.

 

2 of my local stores are now cut off of the FW boxes. The other local Joe Canals, has it randomly. VM hit the shelf 2 weeks ago out of no where. SM never made it this far south. Im can't believe the anniversary beers sit on the shelves for months, they are gone in a day or 2 tops down here in Cape May.

 

Where do they sit on shelves? Please tell...

I was told that 18 is going to be slim pickins in NJ.

 

Nothing out of the ordinary there.

 

Like, a store that used to get 50 cases of the anniversary beer, last year got 3 and this year is being told they are getting none.

 

No store in NJ has EVER gotten 50 cases of FW Anniversary. Thats absurd. 3 is quite high (if it was 16/17)

What store? bc I bet they would get some if they got 1 case last year, unless a few new stores started selling more FW than them.

 

Yeah. That's the name of the game. Who can push more 4 month old IPAs out the door.

 

Northlax, you are dead wrong. My store got 54 cases of FW 16 in 2012. Plain and simple.
