Just left FW Venice. There are still tickets for PJ available . Was told they received 2400 bottles. I don't think they even passed out 2000 tickets yet.

Once parabajava came out I was hoping they'd do a whole series of them.

    parabanilla
    parabacoco
    parabachoco

and so on and so on.

The only slow down, in an other wise really smooth process, was the register check out. If you're going to have a credit card only line, then make sure to not have the credit card purchases also go to the cash line, as that's what speeds the whole process up in doing separate cash/credit card lines.

Which I guess caused the only slow down in what was otherwise a really good handling of a release.

Yup. Not too much left in Venice, but Barrelworks and Paso are good.

They must have plenty in the big fridge... It looked the same to me around noon.

There were still several in the cooler at Barrelworks when I picked mine up around 4pm.

So how is the 16 parabajava tasting. Is is better than 15. I thought the 15 was a too coffee heavy.

I haven't had the 15, but I had 16 yesterday on tap at Barrelworks and would not say it is coffee heavy at all. balanced, very good...but honestly for me i have had better coffee stouts....MW, Sump...I was in Buellton at 2 yesterday and they had a bunch in the lil fridge.

Having had both on tap, I actually think the 15 was a little bit better than the 16. 15 was great out of the bottle, but have not had 16 out of the bottle for comparison.

I'm wondering if what they poured at FWIBF was the same as what's on draft now. It seemed different but I was also very drunk at FWIBF.

Anyone happen to know what the Parabajava inventory will be like at open at Venice today? Trying to figure out whether I should bother my buddy to head over.

When I called last night, they still had some around 8pm. Call today at open and they'll tell you the current status.

Agreed with @wolf13 in that I preferred '15 slightly over '16, and found '15 to be ridiculously balanced right out of the gate. The '16 is, to my palate, a bit more coffee-forward than the '15 (and I'm as much a coffee nerd as beer nerd). FWIW, I'll be letting at least a bottle or two of the '16 sit for a few months, whereas I drank all my '15 within a month or so because I couldn't imagine it getting any better.
