An American Wild Ale fermented with marionberries and boysenberries, SLOambic's tasting experience recalls a "funky berry pie."

The stuff coming out of Barrelworks is universally excellent, but there are a few of their offerings that just enter another stratosphere, at least to my palate, and this is one of them. "Funky berry pie" hits the nail on the head. Not just because it's so fruit forward, but also because, as with pie, you also get baking spices and pie crustiness from the malt and oak, not to mention that perfectly weighted tartness and funk. This is incredible stuff -- so glad BA highlighted this gem!

Is this still available? Any idea of cost? I have been on a crazy budget all year drinking AAL almost exclusive but this sounds like a beer I might have to break down and not eat for a few days. Iwouldlove to somehow get two bottles of its not insane cost.

    Enjoy

I would love to get a hold of a couple of bottles of SLOambic. Their other offerings have been very tasty, especially Lil' Opal. Great review.

Great review! Jeez, I really want a few bottles now. Gonna have to go back to the propagator and see if they have it.

Sloambic is a great tasting beer. Just had it for $1 per oz at the brewery. Would prolly never buy a bottle though. Very expensive, would just buy real lambic instead.

    $14.99 375ml = SLOambic

    $11.99 750ml = Cuvee Rene
