Firestone walker beer fest

My apologies for thread jacking or not using proper etiquette but thought this would be an appropriate place to post this ... Some family issues came up, I can no longer attend this event and have a ticket for sale (face value). I would prefer to do this in person, so anyone in the San Fernando Area please send me a beermail.

"Green Flash will be celebrating with Firestone Walker at the Firestone Walker Invitational Brewfest! Save the date: June 9th from 1pm - 5pm in Paseo Robles, CA at the Mid-state Fairgrounds.
Join Brewmaster Chuck, Cellar Supervisor Ryan and Sales & Marketing Rep Melodee for a day of fun! 30th Street Pale Ale and Saison Diego will be flowing."

 

Not sure if anybody noticed that Cigar City is no longer on the roster. What a bummer.
I emailed them, here's the response:

"Unfortunately the news is true. We sent out our beer and it was damaged in shipping. The beer actually froze in transit and all of our beer was ruined. We do not have beer to replace the damaged beer so we had to opt out this year. We hope that we will be invited out again next year as it seems like a really good time." "It is a super bummer...We sent our Marzen for our session beer and our Baltic Porter for our rare offering."

I assume the Baltic porter was probably their Kalevipoeg Baltic Porter. At any rate, I'm still pretty stoked about a bunch of the other breweries participating.

 

Total bummer. Ah, well. Still one of the craziest brewery lists I've ever seen for a festival.

 

"30th Street Pale Ale and Saison Diego will be flowing." Which one is the "rare" beer? I guess some are just mailing it in.

 

My high hopes for these "rare" offerings is quickly diminishing....

 

Wish others were balling as hard as FW and Bell's are. Hell, any of the initial four announced.

Firestone Walker: We're debuting Reginald Brett (Double DBA innoculated with Brettanomyces) and Agrestic(Sour Flanders Red, aged 2 years.)

Bell's (MI): Oarsman (Berliner Weisse) and Wild One and (American Wild Ale)

Full Sail (OR): LTD 03 (Pilsner) and Top Sail (Barrel-Aged imperial Porter)

Kern River (CA): Citra DIPA (Double IPA) and Class X (Bourbon-Barreled Imperial Stout)

You would think that GF would roll a bit harder to this fest...standard line-up ofderings to an Invitational with tons of heavy hitting breweries coming?? I'm actually not surprised for some reason, which is sad.

I do like the 30th St Pale and as the session offering (its very good), but Saison Diego as the rare?

 

Now, Kern River is bringing their A-Game. F'n A!

It will be really tough to leave the Kern Area. Add to that the fact that I don't like sours and it is looking like a lot of time at the Kern River Booth.

I'm new to the forum, and have bought 2 tickets to go to the Event, but I'm thinking about Skipping the event. If anyone is interested in some tickets, please let me know.

 

So I am setting up an unofficial BA meetup at The Boardroom in Pismo. Great bottle and tap list. thinking 7 Friday night. Gives everyone a chance to meet each other and hang out before the craziness that will be the festival. Anyone down for this???

Staying in Paso Robles on Friday & Saturday, so Pismo Beach is a little far, wouldn't mind looking for a bottleshare/meetup in Paso though on Friday night.

I am heading up from San Diego, specifically Santee, along with my friend Domtronzero..... I hope to find a nice bottleshare or two going on this weekend...Just trying to get everything lined up, as I am sure most people on here as well...;P

 

Also I am coming from SD and I am willing to do trades if anyone wants something from here.

 

I'm always interested in getting my hands on anything Alpine, but I'm not sure what I have that would be of interest. I'll update my gots, and then we can talk. I'm staying at the Paso Motel 6 on Saturday.
