How many tickets do the sell for this event? It is my first year going.

 

Not sure, but it's a pretty damn big event.

 

Have they ever released an official number? I'm terrible at guessing these sorts of things but it does seem like the number of people has increased over the years.

 

I remember them saying a year or two ago, in response to quick ticket sell out, that they chose not to increase the size of the festival.

I've been going for 3 or 4 years and it doesn't appear to have changed much imo.

 

Probably just me being intoxicated then. 2014 seemed to have fewer people but honestly it could have just been that I spent more time in a certain area and didn't see the crowds for as long.

 

I've been every year and I haven't noticed much of a difference in crowd size since the first year.

To all you people that didn't get tickets, but what to go, just find somewhere to stay or crash now. People will be selling these at a loss about a week before the event, just like every other year.

 

If I'm not mistaken, its 3,000 tickets.

 

All technically correct. They have not increased size at all, however, as the festival has grown in stature and the craft beer scene exploded exponentially, the amount of free tickets that the participating breweries and restaurants use has increased.

Whereas in prior year, breweries would only send 2 or 3 people, they always had access to more complimentary tickets. They likely didn't use them due to travel costs, etc.

Now, however, nearly every comp ticket gets used.

So while they have not changed the number of ticket sales, the sheer amount of people has probably increased by a couple hundred in the last year or two.

 

Amazing list as usual, especially if TG actually shows up!

 

I hope they do so they can draw people away from other breweries.

 

That Side Project line might be somewhat manageable if this holds up.

 

Hope Surly brings Todd the Axeman. Might drink that all day.
