Did we ever here what the final number of tickets sold was? How any early entrance and how many general admission?

Also, does anybody have a clue how the "pop up pours" will work? Do they close off the area after the 10 minutes? Will this go on all day or will they throw out 3-4 at a time to try and spread out the craziness? Thanks in advance.

No on your first set of questions.

As for the pop ups, the way I interpreted it was that we are getting a 10 minute warning that things are being tapped. So you go over there when you get the notification or you risk missing out. I can't imagine them closing off an area but who knows.

    That makes sense. Thanks.

I foresee shit shows everywhere during the pop up pours! I'll just constantly tell people that a new Dark Lord variant opened up so they flock to 3 Floyds whilst I take advantage at the correct location haha.

fuck the correct location. Those pop ups will serve me well in going the complete opposite of where it's being held. Sorry, but no beer is worth the shit show that those pop ups will produce and there's far too much good beer to waste the time and effort on a tick if you have to deal with a 20-30 minute line to get it.

For general admission they pre-check everyone into a staging area where they pour the colab beer. Then they open multiple gates at the same time.

Seems like every year its the same at the opening. They open the gates and everyone runs to Three Floyds, Bells, and Cigar City and they have huge lines. The rest of the booths are fairly short lines. So either wait in line for 30 minutes for 2oz of Dark lord or go to 10 other booths in that time.

Get some of the great free food before they run out (that's what I did first, really)

Do some of them really run out of food? If so, how quickly?

Also, besides the Dark Lord variants what else do we think will fall under the pop-up pours category? (Or are we expecting more surprises?)

Maybe they'll bring more food this year but yes. They ran out if food last year at some stations.

As far as the pop ups, we have no idea. It's all speculation at this point. Maybe @jemwilson can shed some light?

I wonder about that. Is Founders really going to pour only All Day IPA until CBS gets tapped?

Maybe, but then Founders would only have All Day IPA for the rest of the day (at least according to the list).

I'd expect any brewery that has more than 3 (maybe 2) beers to have pop ups. I think Rare Barrel and Side Project are a given

Maybe they'll pour their IPA... All Day.

There will probably be a humongoid crowd at the MickeyDs line so have at it. In the meantime I'll be sucking down my 20th pour of whatever is on tap at SP ;-D

Personally I hope Barrelworks brings out some special pours of the kind of stuff they tap at the release parties. Those one offs are always so damn good.
