I Heard it was a barrel aged black ipa with a hint of sourness prior to barrel aging, I also heard it would be 20 +/- beer bottle.

Supposedly, there is an app for the phone (Taphunter?) which provides info and a map for the event. However, I haven't been able to find it for the Android (I did find one for last year). Anyone have any luck?

I found it. Just search Firestone Walker.

I have never been but my buddy said it's worth getting because they announce surprises in the app and let you know when things are being tapped/opened.

I'll be staying near Templeton in an airbnb place with a buddy. We'll be bringing bottles for sharing. If any house bottle shares are going on, it would nice to get a BM invite. I'm not sure what all we'll bring, but it will definitely include Crooked Stave Cellar Reserve beers, Cantillon and some Oregon selections (Ale Apothecary, Upright, Cascade, The Commons, etc.). Maybe some growlers, if we get around to filling any before we leave O.C.

A little off topic, but can anyone give me some incite as to how beatification is on tap compared to the bottle? I only ask because the Lost Abbey sours I've had have been so much better from the bottle and don't want to wait in what I'm sure will be a long line if it's not worth it.

I enjoyed Beat better from the bottle. But you bet your ass there's going to be a line up in there.

With the lines/amount of people there, would you even have enough time to try that many different beers? This will be my first time attending and from what I've read, I'm not sure I'll get to try everything I am hoping to sample.

Yes, you'll be able to try everything as long as you avoid certain lines (FFF, Bruery, RR, CCB, maybe Surly this year)

The lines really arent bad. I tried many, many, many more than 29 beers last year. It's pretty damn relaxed (other than the insane stampede at the beginning.)

Agreed. Lines were pretty much a non-factor last year as long as you avoided FFF and CCB. A lot of breweries had almost zero line all day.

A lot of really good beers had nearly zero line. Beers that anywhere else would command the event by themselves.
