If the terroir of South Africa does for hops what it does for the chenin blanc grape this would be spectacular, if they would make the malt bill paletable. Maybe redesign each malt bill to fit each new hop(s)? One of my few criticisms of FW.

The edition I tried -- 002, I think -- it's distinguishing characteristic was fizz. Like an aromatically poor session IPA. All carb, very little fruitiness. Gave four of the six away.

I'll grab a single of 004 when I see it. If I really like it, I'll buy a couple more.

#003 is probably reaching its shelf life, I had a few a week or two ago and were still good but honestly not as tasty and the 1st time I had that series.
    Cheers

Finally found some #004 in my area. Bottles dated from October. Seems my area does not get this stuff fresh :slight_frown:

Anybody else sip on a No. 5 yet? I just saw it yesterday, so I picked up a 6er. I'm only one sip in, but that was a damn good sip. Hope the rest of the glass holds up just as well.

Sadly, this hasn't caught on in my area to the levels of a stone enjoy by series, and it sucks because its basically the same thing but a 90 day life. I think my local store still has no. 003 on the shelf. Whenever I've had any of them fresh they were great beers but the shops buy too much to move before the shelf life expires.

I'm seeing some of this in my area. Some stores are making sure to stock the new stuff. When I grabbed my 6er out of the fridge, I grabbed a No. 004 pack first. Thankfully I caught it before I paid. I asked the store worker when it came in and he said they'd had it for a while (I found that a little amusing). I do hope this idea catches on else where and Firestone can keep the series going. I saw Unita or Great Divide (didn't really pay much attention at the store) is doing an IPA with a hop mash rotating every year. That sounds pretty nice too, since it'll give stores time to clear inventory and the brewery can buy whatever hops are on clearance that year.

Still have the 004 series at my local taproom with 5 supposed to drop in a few days in a keg. We'll see how that turns out.

005 was at my local costco of all places. very strange as it arrived there before everywhere else. im liking it, but 004 was by far my favorite.

Too many bars around me are simply listing it under the series name Luponic Distortion, but foregoing the batch number on the menu/tap handle... the last time I ordered one, being lead to beleive it was the most recent batch, it was clearly an older batch number once i tasted it.
