Umm, hoard much? That'd better not be my Costco, where I stopped in every other day and still manage to miss the five cases that showed up unannounced on one of my off days. I was feeling pre-guilty for planning to buy 1 case, but FIVE?.... And if it IS my Costco, you've got a Stickee Monkee war on your hands :astonished:

Gotta love hoarders LOL... They'll be the same ones to recommend that awesome brew in another thread despite you for "some" reason not being able to find any...

Already traded for 3 of these before they're even rumored to hit Jersey. Feels good to not feel the stress of chasing this around the state.

Will they ship it? Just wondering because of our shit ABV law. Parabola is gone, but I would love to grab a few Sucabas.

Hopefully that wouldn't be a problem. I've had beers that were >12% ABV shipped to Ohio from beer stores in Chicago.

    Okay, cool. Thanks.

If I may ask, what beer store (Binny's?) are you shopping from and what +12% abv beers? Just curious.

THAT is the reason I chased down KBS. Much easier to get something like Parabola here if you can do a fair trade. Take THAT trade-haters...

I think that seeing tons of Parabola going for $10.99/per at Costco would bring out the "hoarder" in a lot of us. As there's zero chance of Parabola showing up on Costco shelves in Ohio, it's easy for me to say I'd limit myself to "just one" case. But in the moment, I'm sure I could find all kinds of reasons to grab "just one more" case. And a take-n-bake pizza, too!

    Indeed!

Yeah, if I were to see cases upon cases or Parabola at the Mayfield Heights, OH Costco, I would really struggle to just grab a bottle or two. I wouldn't go clearing out their inventory, but part of me would be tempted, I can't lie.

Lots of places will do that. It rewards the customers who come to the shop for all their beer needs, not just hunting one bottle and never coming back.

Bottle shops don't make much money from the ONE case they get of something rare. Many places only got 6 bottles of parabola, seven at a 5 dollar mark up, they would only profit $30. A regular coming in and buying beer for his/her bbq can amount to that much profit ALONE in one purchase. I see no problem in rewarding locals who come in, chat for a bit, make a good impression, and regularly send more clients their way.

CostCo carries good beer? It's been a long time since I've been to a Costco and even then it was the Van Nuys location...

Not all, but some—particularly in CA it seems. Depends on the store, but you can also try talking to the person in charge of wine/beer/spirits, as they can make requests higher up the chain. Usually much cheaper than elsewhere (like the aforementioned $11 FW offerings vs $16 normally; Enjoy By for $5.50 instead of $7+; etc).
