I am on cloud 9. Somehow I scored two bottles of 2010 Parabola today. Always ask for the bottle list at bars you can buy beers to go! Can't wait to compare it to the 2014.

They tapped a keg of both Parabola and Sucaba at Papago Brewing Co. in PHX about 4 weeks ago. Both delicious, would love to find both of them to take home in bottles to enjoy at home

Were you ever able to make a trade for Parabola with someone in California?

What is the consensus on the best amount of age? I know everyone has their own tastes, but I don't have enough to really give it a go. I have 1 '13 and 1 '14 and have never tried it. Thx.

I guess I should elaborate on my own palate a little to explain my question a little further. I like to age my BA stouts to mellow the bourbon flavor a little away from being "hot" if you will. I know age mellows it and was wondering what people's sweet spot is with Parabola to attain a little smoother flavor. Fresh, 1 year, 2 years, beyond? Thanks!

using this as an example I age thirsty dog ba stout a month it mellows the bourbon perfectly

I had a '14 Parabola last month and it was pretty darn mellow. Not hot at all. However, I got two additional bottles to age for 6 months/1 year as a comparison. If you can hold out then age it. But IMO, you won't be disappointed if you open yours now.

I agree with this; I also prefer to let some of the heat calm down, and as opposed to the '13 which I thought was too hot fresh, the '14 was great right away.

Has anyone had this both on draft and from a bottle? Any noticable differences?

Yeah same way for me man. Sucks we have to trade for all the big ones. Still quite a few I need to cross off on my list.

Personally, I have had it fresh and it wasn't too hot for me. I had one a few days ago and it has mellowed a bit. I have two more bottles left, will try one later this year and the other will cellar for a year or two.

Had a 4 yr vert last weekend. 2012 was by far the best, 2011 had lost its edge a bit but still good. 13 was outstanding, 2014 very good but probably in 9 months to a year it will be much better
