Sucaba is still on shelves in SD, so hopefully Parabola won't be terribly difficult to get.

Is there such a thing as a warm summer night in the Seattle area?

Ghaaaa I hope that's not true, if it lands while I'm in Europe it might be gone before I get back. Really hope they can bump that up...

    wrong thread lol...

and on another note, now I know the availability of Parabola I won't be buying 14 bottles of it this time. It was my first "whale" that I amassed rather quickly.

Whaaaaaat? It's delicious, buy cases of it because of that, not for tradebait.

Parabola '11 was what got me into russian imperial stouts and barrel aged stouts to begin with. I won't ever regret getting so many. Got lovely trades thanks to it and opened my eyes to the black tar of the craft world. Now its more like undug gold. But now i'll get like 2-3 and be happy.

Beer Rev had a keg of last year's Parabola going during their recent imp stout fest - even with something like 50 other imp stouts to choose from (including the '10 and '11 Abyss, the '10 and '11 Stone IRS, and all sorts of other barrel-aged craziness), I found myself drinking glass after glass of Parabola, and didn't regret missing out on most of the other stuff one bit.

I was in my NH store last night, asking if I could get on a list for Parabola. First, the lady at the desk said I missed it and that it came out last month...I had to kindly state that no, it hasn't been released yet. She pretty much called me a liar, so I asked if I could just be put on a list for it in case I haven't, in fact, missed it.

She put my name down with a request for four bottles ... fingers crossed I guess?

The owner of the store is a good guy, later at night with just her working, the knowledge base dries up a tad.

God- I hate stuff like that. I had the owner of a store in Seattle tell me that DFH 75 Minute IPA didn't exist and then as I was leaving he and the other guy were cracking on me wondering why I thought I knew more than them.

I understand if you don't want to name the store on the internet and seem like a dick....but where in the city is this store located? I'm wondering because I've had similar experiences at a Seattle area bottle shop....

I don't know how I got into this font, prolly trying to use a shortcut to make the "S" statute sign, but all I was going to say was I hope that Parabola this year is as plentiful as Abacus/Sucaba was this year, that stuff was everywhere (a good thing)

Supposedly that was this year's parabola, just early. What's weird is I thought it tasted different, I actually thought it was BA Merkin at first.

Sucaba is only on the shelves in SD at stores that have marked up the price too much. Anyone that had it on for $15 sold out pretty quickly... including all the BevMos

Bristol Farms and WF both had plenty of bottles as of last week, and both at $15. I agree about BevMo, though, it sold out quick there.

West Seattle- NOT Beer Junction, and it doubles as a convenience store.
