Yep.....just as I guessed, their one saving grace is cheap growlers.

 

It's because some places are jacking up the prices. One place in SD has it for $30, I hope they sell none at that price.

 

It's still around at places for $15 (see previous page).

Do tell, though, who's charging $30? I'd like to know so I don't shop there in the future.

I just came here to say that this beer is better then 90% of the limited hard to land -Bal Stouts that i have ever tried.

 

i definitly agree. i thought it was pretty good the first time i had it, but every glass ive had since than im loving it more and more. the only problem i have with it is the wicked hang overs it gives me! stouts and barelywines aged in port and wine barrels do it every time no matter what percet of final product. (arctic devil, bar fly, parabola, abacus etc.) but with this guy its worth it haha

 

You can trade me all of the ones "not worth it" if you like then.

 

ha i guess theyre all worth it! we still might be able to work something out tho, ive got some local barrel aged stuff of tour interested.

 

It was kegged about a week before the fest. Mr. Brynildson was kind enough to hook it up with the freshness after being contacted about the event. It was mighty fine too.

 

Sucaba is totally available and plenty in suburb's of Chicago, bought 3, could have bought 2 cases.

 

I just picked up 2 more Sucaba yesterday, but then again, FW 14 is still on shelves here...

Someone already listed a 2012 Parabola on "that auction site."

"Up for bid are three rare bottles of Firestone Walker Parabola including the 2012 vintage before its official release date in May. Yes, 2012!!! Included are 2010, 2011 and yes, 2012!!!! The 2012 vintage has not been officially released but because of a special beer dinner two cases were sent from the brewery early."

Seems to be commanding quite a premium (and apparently merits seven exclamation points).

 

i hope this is as plentiful as it was last year...great beer.

 

Arctic Devil was only aged in bourbon barrels this year, and I have not found info that Parabola and Abacus were. Might someone send me a link?

 

Might open an 11 tonight after this. Bet it's not shabby.

 

Arctic devil is aged primarily in bourbon barrels but also brandy and wine barrels. At least that what the head brewer told me over a bottle of berserker

All of Firestone walkers beers are a blend of different treatments on their reserve beers. I'll try to find link for ya.

 

I am just reading what is on the bottle, which could only be part of the story.

Can I ask where in NJ you are seeing FW 14 on the shelf?

 

the one in Torrance on PCH. Not sure if it's still there though
