Every FW Vintage beer this year (Bravo, Parabola, now Stickee Monkee) has been cited as drinking really hot. I had Parabola on tap this year and did not even finish my pour.

I don't know if they changed their process or if Boulevard is involved in brewing all of those this year or what, but they used to be my standard for barrel aging. But that may have been a relic of the past :/

To be fair, it was around 4.15 a few days ago and now is up to 4.3. It'll likely climb into the 4.4+ area, which is where pretty much all the Firestone Proprietor's beers are at and is totes world class yo.

Agree on Bravo and Parabola, haven't tried SM yet this year. I also felt the same last year though (with Sucaba in particular, RIP) but after 4-5 months they had mellowed considerably.

I snagged a bottle a few weeks ago, holding onto it for now. Not sure if I want to keep it or drink it. Was $9.99 in AZ, limit one per customer.

Okay, tried this year's Stickee Monkee... I think it's great! I don't think it's too hot at all. It's 12.5% and tastes like it has booze, but it's not harsh at all. Maybe folks are drinking it too cold? It feels like a great middle ground between 2015 and 2016 - more bourbon than 16 (less than 15), sweet but not as cloying as 16. I'm sitting on my other 2017 Parabolas for at least a few months, but SM is good to go now.

I thought the same thing when I stumbled upon stickee Monkee in a 12 oz box... Not passing up on that and was only going to buy a modest six pack at the store. haha

Seems to be a trend for all of the releases so far this year. Bravo (my first time having it) was boozy, and Parabola was overly hot compared to previous batches. This would be falling in line with the trend

Does anyone know how many cases they made of SM this year? Just wondering because Bravo and Parabola we got 3 and 4 cases each, respectively. We only got 1 case of SM, so wasn't sure if SM has a lower production than the other two, or if they decided to send us less of this release.

Different strokes for different folks, but I didn't find either overly boozy out of the gate this year. TETO

The bottle says 9,500 cases. That's compared to 4,000 for Bravo and 8,000 for Parabola.

I was able to purchase 1 bottle in Buffalo NY for 9.99. I considered myself lucky. It is the first time I have ever seen it.

I'm also in Upstate New York, near Elmira, and this is the first year I've started seeing Firestone Walker's BA beers as well. I bought Bravo a few months ago, and I just purchased Stickee Monkee.

While people will critique whether a particular batch is too hot, overated, poor price format, etc... I'll personally say each and every one of their Proprietor series that I've had fresh or cellared have all been good-great experiences. Hard to think of something else that's had the quality and consistency of those. YMMV
