Abyss is good. Parabola is great.

BCBS blows Parabola away so bad it's not even funny. It's also a bonus that 22oz costs $8.01 (based on the $17.49 I pay for a 4 pack)

What is Parabola now, $16.99. That's just stupid expensive. It really sucks because I want to like FSW more, but I'm only loyal to my taste buds.

Abyss is okay, but I refuse to pay that much for something not 100% barrel aged.

I wouldn't say it blows it away purely on taste, but BCBS has a moderate edge IMO. You're totally right that it's better and costs way less though. I think a lot of us are often seduced by novelty. I also might not seek this kind of stuff out if I had a stash of new and aged BCBS, but I've only got 1x '12 and 8x '13 that have to last me until next year or until I feel like trading for more.

I'd love to find out for myself how Parabola compares to BCBS and Abyss...:grinning: Haven't tried Sucaba either.

Haven't had Parabola yet, but I enjoy Abyss more than BCBS. The Bourbon County series just has too much bourbon for me.

I'm in the process of aging two 2013 bottles at the moment, as well as 2013 Abyss. So around Christmas 2015, I'll open them up and see how they compare!

BCBS > Parabola > Abyss, for me. But they're all fantastic, and Abyss is really a different animal than the other two. I really do love Parabola, too...

To get slightly off subject, are we getting Bourbon County Barleywine ? Same style, better price, better beer. Probably easier to get.
