I picked one up for $16.99 and wasn't even looking for it. I was talking with the cashier at Total Wine on Thursday and she asked if I was interested in a bottle. She wasn't sure if they still had some since they get so few bottles but she checked behind the front counter then went into the back and came back with the last one I believe. They didn't put any on the shelf so I felt lucky...now to figure out when the right time to drink it.

Liquor store down the street from me in Anaheim Hill's had probably 12 bottles on the shelf on Friday night. I went back Saturday night and bought one, didn't look like anyone had touched them. They had a limit of 1 but I think if I go back in a few days theyd sell me another.

What part of CA are you in? Every FW barrel aged beer other than Paraobla sits in multiple shops around Ventura. I know last years Merkin, Stickee, Sucaba, Helldorado and I think even some 2014 Merkin and DDBA is still around. Probably some XIX too.

Found one of these on Saturday at an unexpected local shop. $17.99. Way too high, but you only live once.

East Bay...WC/PH/Concord. I have seen some releases hang around. I passed on Merkin a dozen times at a few places and Helldorado a couple of times last fall. One local shop still has a case of DDBA sitting on the floor.

I bought my last bottle at Ojai Beverage Company a few months ago, they had many vintage FW at marked up prices but DDBA was not marked up. I've also seen it at Red Barn on the Avenue and 5 points mid to late last year, haven't visited any of the shops in awhile so I can't say for sure if it's finally gone or not.

I'm told we'll get it this week. The only question is, how many bottles will they sell? I'd like to age at least one but it's hard not to crack it open!

I got two a couple of weeks ago and consumed one immediately. I must say I don't think age will make it any better. It's drinking wonderfully right now.

I just happened to get one for 15$ (handed to me by an employee from under the counter).

To be honest, I wouldn't seek it out. Tasty, but you're typical barleywine with some tasty bourbon flavors. Aging will just mute out alot of the barrel and wood nuances.

I'm in DC on vacation and on the recommendation of some BAs in the mid Atlantic forum went to Churchkey, where I found Sucaba, Peche Mortel, Tweak, Uncle Jacobs and numerous other awaking beers.

Of the 10 or so I tried over the weekend, the 2016 Sucaba was the best.

Damn, I was planning in drinking it about 3 or 4 months from now, since I have other beers. I guess, I'll drink it soon, then.
