Straight Jacket, IMHO, is the best BBA Barleywine I've ever had. Very underrated.

i recently had a blind tasting with just about every barrel aged barleywine worth drinking. Straight jacket was the clear winner, much to my surprise. Anywho, enjoying sucaba on tap currently, i think i enjoy it from the bottle more... anyone else enjoy the bottles over draft for these fw beers?

Wish we had it here (FW coming soon). I've been on the lookout for Sucaba, Stickee, Helldorado and Parabola for quite awhile. Traded for a '15 sucaba, the others have been more elusive.

You definitely got a good one though. It's probably my 3rd favorite out of the ones I've had from the BA program (behind Parabola and Anniversary (Parabajava has been eluding me). Not that any of them are bad by any means.

They all taste the same to me...pretty good but not worth my money.

Good score. I'm probably one of the few here who actually knows this place. What are you doing all the way over in walnut creek, ca if you're from Maryland?

One year proper aging does that no harm :sunglasses:

Finally got my hands on 2 bottles in Central NY. I didn't think I'd ever see it.

The Binny's in Lincoln Park had some bottles late last week (I think Thursday or Friday). Never been that appealing to me, unfortunately, because I knew I lucked upon something when I saw it. Can't say if they're still there or not.

Agree. I think that this is true for a lot of the "big" beers. Although, I usually can't wait for six months to have my first bottle. :grinning:

For those in Northern CA I'm seeing Sucaba out at Bevmos and other mom and pop shops.

However Parabola, i prefer that one fresh, not a fan of it aged so much.

Saw it for $25 at my local bottle shop, what's the MSRP on this? Seems kind of pricey
