Firestone Walker - The Propagator (2021)

Fresh Pivo is a damn treat. I wish Firestone Venice was closer to where I live (It's about 100 miles away), if it was I'd be there way more often. As it is I did visit their Venice spot about a month ago.

Might be making a trip up to northern Cal soon, and if so I plan on visiting the Buellton location or Paso Robles location, or both if possible.

Thanks for posting this nice pic Todd. It's great to see life slowly returning back to a resemblance of what it was a year ago. Baby steps ...

Hit the patio this past Saturday. Plenty of space and the table ordering is super easy there. Had a couple Pivos and a DDH Gen1, and took home a couple crowlers of Gen1 at that.

Anyone who is looking for a patio with a ton of space, this is the spot.

 

Is this in reference to the Venice location? If so, I may need to hit it up soon.

 

Yep, the Venice location ... The wife and I had our first kid in November, and havent really felt comfortable leaving the house with the baby, other than going on a walk or to the park. Went down to the Venice location, and felt completely comfortable with the spacing and the way they were running everything. Was really stocked to get out and have a beer on tap. Beer menu looks great there right now too! Anniversary vertical on tap right now, along with Mudslide.

 

That sounds awesome. We just had a kid on New Year's Eve too, so we can totally relate to being extra careful. Great to know you both felt safe there, so we may definitely have to check it out.

In the interest of giving another nearby kid-friendly brewery option, wife, kid, and I went to Three Weavers last Saturday for dinner and had a great time. Open-air seating with heat lamps if desired and good social distancing between tables, so that's as safe as it gets. Strongly recommend.

 

The Feb batch of Wookey Jack is now up for online sales.

Just picked up another 2 packs along with those Parabolas.

 

Goddammit, I would’ve waited to buy some Parabola if I’d known that.

 

How quick is Firestone with their shipping? I placed an order on Sunday but haven't been sent an email with tracking info yet. I'm used to breweries sending out orders on Tuesdays but I've never placed an order with Firestone Walker.

 

When I last got Wookey in January's batch, it was like 5 days before any movement? Something like that. I remember it shipped a week later than I had originally anticipated.

Edit: Scratch that. I ordered it on 1/13 (Wednesday) and looks like it arrived Friday (1/15) and I drank one and posted it on 1/16 here on BA. Must have been thinking of a different beer shipment.

 

I placed an order last Thursday (2/18) and it shipped yesterday (2/23). I never got a shipping notice, had to check my order status on the website.

Edit: It's also shipping FedEx instead of GLS which is interesting.

 

Ordered the day Parabola became available, received a phone call from FedEx on Monday, saying it will arrive Tuesday, checked the tracking number, now says end of day today.

Shipped once before from Firestone, found it to be reliable, reasonably fast.

 

Update: shipment arrived today

 

Went to Firestone for lunch, our first time eating out in a year, and it was super nice. Felt safe with being able to order directly from your phone at the table which was awesome. Had Amburana Parabola on draft and it was really good, so I had to buy a bottle to go. Also got some Wookey Jack of course. Thanks for the recommendation guys!

 

Went back yesterday for lunch ... Talleycat Sunflower and Gen and Juice both tasting amazing right now. Took home a couple Unfiltered crowlers as well.

Nice living so close to here, but tough on the wallet as of late haha

 

Going here today for some gold. I live close and still pay for pickup cuz stuff flys off the shelves

 

Didn't get Double Barrel but they had half a case of Amburana left.

i had the Double Barrel on tap and it was awful. Yea AWFUL. tasted of a double shot of bourbon with 2oz of water added so I'm not absolutely mad. I wanted some to trade with people kn the east though
