It's my birthday too tomorrow, damn I wish I could make it to this. DBA was basically the beer that got me started drinking better beer. Jeffers is a great guy too, got to meet him in Vegas last year at one of his seminars.

 

man they need to open up an SF location soon :/, maybe somewhere on the peninsula??

 

Headed to LA for vacation next week, going to hit The Propagator. Some questions:

* what bottles do they typically have for sale in the store? How about in tap room?

* do they usually have Parabola in tap room?

Their beer menu is on untappd and taphunter and updated frequently. I was just there last week and they had everything on the beer bottle list including a few 3L bottles

 

I went there tonight, facility really nice. For an out of towner to get Parabola on tap is pretty awesome. I hit the store, that beer cave is awesome. Grabbed bottles of Parabola, 19th Anni and Parabajava! Wished I could have stayed in there longer, but it was cold in there !

Went to the Propagator last night and had a good meal at the bar (grilled fish tacos) and sampled a number of beers. Nec Bones #1, MH2, and Anniversary XXII were the highlights. Cool atmosphere with a good open space and tv's for games.

 

If you are still in town on Sat, you might want to stop by and pick up a few bottles of Parabajava.

 

Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately I’m on a red eye back to the sub-30 degree temperatures in Boston tonight. We see decent FW distribution so hoping I can find a bottle.

 

You won’t. Parabajava is only available at any of the three breweries.

 

Showed up a couple of minutes before opening for Parabajava - smallish line, about 20 peeples. Well, cool, I say.

Surprise #1 - Parabajeebus 2015 and 2016 on tap. Bonus.

Surprise # 2 - I guess they had bottles of Parabajava 2015 and 2016 gathering dust in the warehouse 'cause FW put them up for purchase. Got two of each, plus six 2018s. Instant vertical.

So, had a couple of 2015/16 tasters. What a contrast. Like I had heard before, the coffee has disappeared from 2015, leaving behind a vaguely char flavor, not much barrel. But 2016 has aged like Cindy Crawford. Flawless. Coffee aroma and flavor was fresh and pungent, like it was just brewed. Thanks FW.
