I apologize if this has been posted before or if this is old news, but I happened to be doing some research at the NC ABC for a client, and I stumbled upon Firestone Walker's label approval. Here is the link: http://abc.nc.gov/product/brand/7009. Obviously, it looks like they are starting with shelf stuff, but I'm sure we will see the more limited stuff down the road.
Think how excited we were for Alesmith, then check the dates on the IPA and Speedway Stout in NC. I want to be excited, but it seems like every brand comes in to great aplomb, then sits.
Of the shelf stuff, Double Jack will make you guys happy. Almost always available and packs a helluva great punch. I'm not saying it's a dead on Hopslam clone, but it can certainly fill the void from March through early January.
I could care less how old the Speedway stout is...especially when it shows up at Teeter for $10.99. But yeah, the Alesmith IPA that showed up on Day 1 was already out of date (and became an instant shelf turd).
I am told this may be an old application for FW (e.g., WindsorAle isn't even around). Maybe it is not as impending as I had hoped. Hope I didn't get hopes up for nothing.
Approval does not always mean that distro is coming. As someone else recently pointed out, NC ABC approved CCB for Huna. This was likely because they brought a keg of it to the SN festival last month.
This was available years ago thru Tryon. Wonder if it's old ABC or they are coming back. Would be great if they did!
Permit was issued in November 1997. My guess is it's an old permit. http://abc.nc.gov/Product/Supplier/1244
