    Merlin is the least impressive of the FW beers I have tried. I was super excited to see it on shelves, only to be let down. Sammy Smiths oatmeal stout is better and Ipswich's is the king of the oatmeal castle. I haven't had Merkin.

    Really? NoVA has gotten all of the Prop Reserve Series and Merlin as well.

    You guys are lucky and I haven't been looking in the right spots, then. I've never seen any of the Prop Reserver stuff here. Any specific shops?

    Had a '13 Merkin I got in a trade along with '13 sucaba and '12 parabola. The latter two were some of the best beers I've tried.. Up there with the BBA stouts and bws from Goose Island and Central Waters, which had been my favorite to date. But the Merkin fell way short on my expectations. Just an extremely sweet, very expensive, mess.

    It comes and goes usually within a couple of hours of arriving or less. Most shops around us get it.
